Sale Sharks have added Edinburgh second-row forward Fraser McKenzie to their new-look squad for next season.

The 23-year-old has played 19 times for his club this term including a man-of-the-match performance against Northampton in the Heineken Cup.

McKenzie, who can also play at flanker, joined Edinburgh in 2008.

"He has had a good year and our contacts north of the border rate him very highly," Sharks executive director of sport Steve Diamond said.

"I have seen him in action myself and know he will fit into my plans taking the club forward."

The Dunfermline-born forward is a former Scotland Under-19 captain and played for the Under-20s in the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship.

Meanwhile, present Scotland Under-20 hooker George Turner has become the latest young prospect to win a Scottish Rugby Elite Development contract that will see him aligned with Edinburgh for season 2011/12.

The 18-year-old has been playing with Stewart's Melville.
