St Helens full-back Shannon McDonnell will miss the rest of the season because of an Achilles injury.
McDonnell, 27, was hurt in the closing stages of Saints' 25-24 defeat by Castleford Tigers on Thursday.
Head coach Keiron Cunningham confirmed McDonnell will undergo surgery on the injury before returning next season, and is looking to sign some cover.
"We've got the feelers out there, we've made contact with a few people already," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
Australian McDonnell returned to Super League champions St Helens in April on a deal until the end of 2016.
The former Hull KR and Hull FC man played three games for the club in 2014 before he fractured his jaw.
