On-loan Hull KR prop Tony Puletua has confirmed he is taking legal action against parent club Salford Red Devils.
The 35-year-old left Salford last month after failing to feature in 2015.
The Super League club told BBC Radio Manchester they cannot respond directly to the claims as they are subject to legal proceedings.
Puletua said: "It's not really something I can speak about at the moment, but there are a few things going on between myself and the club."
The New Zealand and Samoa international told BBC Radio Humberside: "It is quite disappointing but there is not much I can do at the moment so hopefully we can solve this soon."
In a statement, Salford said: "The club notes with interest comments made by its employee Tony Puletua and is considering the matter further.
"We are disappointed that one of our players has decided to talk publicly about confidential club matters."
The former Penrith Panthers forward joined Salford on a two-year deal from St Helens ahead of the 2014 season, featuring in 25 Super League games last term.
