Matty Smith: Wigan half-back gets one-game ban after guilty plea
Wigan scrum-half Matty Smith has been banned for one game after submitting an early guilty plea following an incident in Thursday's 22-22 draw at Widnes.
Smith, 27, kicked out at Vikings full-back Rhys Hanbury after Chris Dean's try for Widnes, resulting in his sin-binning by referee James Child.
The England half-back will miss Friday's home game with Huddersfield.
However, he will be available for Wigan's World Club series game against Brisbane Broncos the following weekend.
Warriors team-mate Joel Tomkins was issued with a formal caution by the Rugby Football League (RFL) for his role in the aftermath of the score.
Meanwhile, Widnes winger Patrick Ah Van has been charged with a Grade B offence for his high tackle on Josh Charnley that earned him a red card in the same match.
He has until 11:00 GMT on Tuesday to submit an early guilty plea.
Salford second-rower Weller Hauraki must also appear before a disciplinary committee on Tuesday after being charged with a Grade B offence of making dangerous contact on Warrington forward Ben Currie.
