Experienced prop Ryan Bailey has said he is excited about making a fresh start at Hull KR after ending his 14-year spell at Leeds Rhinos.
Bailey, 31, signed a two-year deal with the Robins in October after making 313 appearances for the Rhinos.
The ex-England international is a doubt for Sunday's season opener against his old side with an Achilles injury.
"I'm enjoying it and I think it will bring the best from me," he told BBC Radio Humberside.
"I was at Leeds for a long time but I think I needed a change and I think I can become a leader here. I'm excited for the season.
"We've got a new team but we've become a tight-knit group already and I think we can surprise some teams."
Bailey is hopeful that he can help his new team-mates get a result on Sunday, even if he can not get on the pitch.
"I'll be pushing to be fit but I won't go out there if I'm not 100% fit. There's a chance," he said.
"Leeds like to start quick and they'll look to blow us away. The coach has been picking my brain a little bit and I have put my hand up to try and help as best as I can."
