Blackpool to host Championship Summer Bash weekend in May
Blackpool's Bloomfield Road will host the Championship Summer Bash over 23-24 May 2015, with Bradford versus Halifax on Saturday among the headline games.
The newly-created event, based on Super League's Magic Weekend, sees champions Leigh play Featherstone on Sunday.
Day one also includes Cumbrian rivals Workington facing Whitehaven, while Sheffield take on London.
Sunday features the Heavy Woollen derby between Batley and Dewsbury, and Hunslet will play Doncaster.
Saturday will also see the final of the inaugural League One Cup, a knock-out competition including the third-tier clubs and National Conference League amateurs West Hull and East Leeds.

|Blackpool Borough occasionally staged fixtures at the stadium and played their final few home matches before the club was uprooted to Wigan in 1987.|
|In recent years the venue has hosted play-offs and Northern Rail Cup finals - a knock-out competition open to professional clubs outside Super League, as well as the Northern Rail Nines.|
"The Summer Bash is a tremendous addition to the new-look Championship and I am sure rugby league fans everywhere will embrace the event and take the opportunity to spend a weekend at a venue which has a rich tradition of creating fantastic memories for the sport," said RFL chief operating officer Ralph Rimmer.
"Blackpool is the perfect home for the Summer Bash - not only are there plenty of accommodation choices but the resort offers our fans many other attractions over the extended Bank Holiday weekend.
"With the dawn of a new era for rugby league and the restoration of promotion and relegation in 2015, every minute of every game matters and that will ensure the Summer Bash will produce drama of the highest quality."
