No money for Salford - council

Salford City mayor Ian Stewart tells BBC Radio Manchester the council do not have the money to be able to loan it to the Salford City Reds to help with their financial problems.

The council has already given the Salford City Stadium side a £1.5m loan, but rejected another loan of £750,000.

The Reds were served with a winding up petition in October because of unpaid bills and Stewart says they will try to facilitate outside investment into the Super League side as they want them to continue as a club.
