Championship side Barrow Raiders have signed centre Anthony Blackwood following a stint with French Elite League side Limoux Grizzlies.
The former Crusaders three-quarter, 28, was on-loan at Barrow during the 2010 season, and has 26 Super League appearances to his name.
"Blackwood has a good pedigree," head coach Nigel Wright said.
"We will take a good look at him in training this week before deciding when he can be pitched into a game."
No terms relating to the deal have been revealed at this time.
Raiders have suffered a number of absences in centre positions, with Ned Catic suspended and injuries to Zeb Luisi and Liam Harrison this season.
"Blackwood is a natural right centre which is a position we have had to use a variety of players to fill," Wright continued.
"The chairman [Des Johnston] was well aware of that and also my concerns about the lack of someone who was experienced in that role.
"I know he has put in many hours chasing down Anthony as well as exploring other options and I am really grateful for his efforts on behalf of the club."
The Wales international began his career with Leigh Centurions before joining Halifax where he remained until signing for Crusaders in 2007.
