BBC Sport - Russian doping: David Moorcroft saddened by latest allegations about London 2012

Moorcroft saddened by 'corrupted Games'

More than 1,000 Russians benefited from a state-sponsored doping programme between 2011 and 2015, a report claims. Its author says London 2012 was "corrupted on an unprecedented scale".

David Moorcroft, a former Olympian and ex-chief executive of UK Athletics, told The World at One it was "very sad" London was being classed as corrupt "when we had so many incredible performances". He also said athletes around the world are "happy to be beaten by better athletes, but not by cheats".
