Kilcoo have confirmed they will not take part in Thursday night's Down Division One final after saying it was scheduled "at such short notice".

The Mourne champions were in Ulster club quarter-final action on Sunday, securing victory over Glenswilly.

A number of Kilcoo players are recovering after picking up injuries in the game at Pairc Esler.

"We express our disappointment at the scheduling of an important fixture at such short notice," the club said.

Kilcoo added on Facebook that the CCC of the Down County Board had arranged the Bryansford decider against Castlewellan earlier this week.

The Down side beat their Donegal opponents by six points at Pairc Esler and they will now face Maghery in the provincial semi-finals on 13 November.

Kilcoo forward Darragh O'Hanlon, who scored a goal in Sunday's 1-12 to 1-6 victory, is a doubt for the semi-final after sustaining a whiplash type injury against Glenswilly.
