Monaghan native Seamus McEnaney is back in inter-county management after agreeing to take charge of Wexford.

The former Monaghan and Meath boss had been linked with the vacant Cavan job but lost out to former Tyrone player and Scotstown manager Mattie McGleenan.

McEnaney guided Monaghan to two Ulster finals in 2007 and 2010 and managed Meath for two seasons before stepping down in 2012.

Division Four side Wexford will play Carlow in next year's Leinster SFC.

The winners will face All-Ireland champions Dublin.
