The North West 200 road race is to receive funding of £124,000 from the Northern Ireland Executive, with the aim of improving safety at the event.
Communities Minister Paul Givan said the money will enable the promoting Coleraine Club "to purchase equipment to help improve the safety of the course for competitors and spectators".
The money is set to go towards purchasing more safety bales, kerb protectors and pole protectors, as well as the implementation of a new warning light system.
