Team Jets head coach Linda Andrews says she is encouraged by some of her team's play after they lost their first game of the season.
Jets trailed throughout their 62-42 loss to Telstars at the start of their second season in Premier League Two.
"I thought some of the girls really stepped up and it was encouraging it was some of their first times as a Jet," Andrews told BBC Radio Jersey.
The island side have lost three of their best players since the summer.
"We can see what needs to be done and they went on and did a few good things, so it's in them, we just need to get the consistency and repeat it more often."
Andrews hopes that her side will improve as they play more games together, having not had a match since April's inter-insular win over Guernsey.
She continued: "We don't have the luxury of having any pre-season games so this is our first game at that level.
"We don't like losing. We put so much effort into what we do and it is a talented bunch of girls, but we have lost some this year and it is a rebuilding stage."
