Scotland's Gordon Shedden snatches British Touring Car Championship
Scottish driver Gordon Shedden retained his British Touring Car Championship title in dramatic fashion after finishing third in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch.
Shedden overcame the two-point lead held by previous leader Sam Tordoff in Sunday's third and final race.
He passed Tordoff on lap seven, before holding off the 27-year-old and surviving a late safety car period.
It was a third title for Shedden, 37, who also won in 2012 and 2015.
Mat Jackson won the final race in a time of 30 minutes and 42.447 seconds, with Aiden Moffat coming second just over a second behind.
Fourth-placed Adam Morgan finished ahead of Tordoff.
