Colin Turkington maintained his lead in the British Touring Car Championship with two victories at Croft on Sunday.

The BMW driver from Portadown won the opener in England by over seven seconds from Gordon Shedden and Jason Plato.

Shedden also came in behind Turkington in the second race with Matt Neal completing the podium places.

Turkington was forced out of the third race with clutch problems and Shedden's third-place finish meant he cut the gap on Turkington to five points.

Turkington clinched a double in the previous round at Oulton Park and made it four wins from five races on Sunday.

The 2009 champion started from pole and was a comfortable winner in the first two races.

"Gordon was definitely faster that time - it took the first third of the race to shake him off," Turkington told the BTCC website after his second win.

"The pressure was on all the way through - but as I've said before the hard work by the team is really paying off.

"As the race goes on you're obviously losing grip, and I was pressing on to make sure the gap was comfortable."
