Jersey's James Walker expects win at Silverstone
Jersey driver James Walker is confident of success when he takes to the track at Silverstone on Sunday in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Walker's JMW Motorsport team have entered the only UK round to test themselves against some of the best drivers and teams in the world.
During the six-hour race he will alternate with team-mate Jonny Cocker behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458.
"Our little team is the one to beat," Walker told BBC Radio Jersey.
"We actually go to these races expecting to win. In hot temperatures we're very quick, that's when our tyre really performs very well.
"A podium would be very special, but a home win would be even better."
Walker, 28, had been set to compete in the European Le Mans Series at Donington in July, but pulled out because of the birth of his daughter.
It has been a hectic month for the Jersey driver who has also moved back to the island.
"I left Jersey nearly 13 years ago now to race in the UK and be based kind of in-between the two," he said.
"It's always in the back of my mind that the minute that I started a family I'd want to come back.
"Even though there is a lot of commuting back and forth to the mainland for me it is well worth it."
