Plymouth Devils beat Newcastle 50-45 to record their seventh consecutive home Premier League win.
Reserve James Cockle put in a man-of-the-match performance of 11+3, aided by Ricky Wells (11) and returning skipper Ben Barker (10+1).
It could have been better for Plymouth though as they allowed a 12-point lead to slip costing them a league point.
The result gives Plymouth two league points to close to within two of Leicester at the foot of the table.
Plymouth have five more matches this season, two of which are at the St Boniface Arena and need three points to climb off the bottom of the table.
