Isle of Wight Islanders promoter Chris Hunt has warned his side there will no excuses if they fail to beat Dudley Heathens at home on Tuesday.

Islanders sit second from bottom in the National League, but have not lost at Smallbrook stadium this term.

"We should always be confident at home, we have the biggest track in the country, so there's no excuses for losing here," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"It will be very tight against Dudley, but if we up our game we should win."

Islanders defeated Kings Lynn 46-44 in their previous home fixture last week but Hunt says that despite the victory he was disappointed with the result.

"To be honest it wasn't the result we were looking for, we wanted to win by more than six points so we could get the full three points," he admitted.

"It certainly was a tight meeting, excellent from the fans' point of view, but nerve-wracking from our point of view. We were behind for the whole of the meeting and didn't get in front until the very last race.

"At the end of the day we feel we have dropped a point, but this just means we have to make something up when we go away from home now."
