Speedway: Ipswich Witches boss eyes away form boost

Ipswich Witches

Ipswich Witches team manager Pete Simmons has challenged his riders to turn their home form into points on their travels.

The Witches, who have one away victory this term, brushed aside Plymouth in a 59-35 win at Foxhall on Thursday.

"It is important to keep getting these three-point victories at home," Simmons told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"But we must pick up points away, we cannot afford to lose any more ground on Somerset."

He added: "We have certainly got to up our game away from Foxhall and pick those vital points up."

Somerset Rebels have three meetings in hand on the Suffolk side and are three points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Ipswich travel to Workington on Saturday, who sit third, one place behind the Witches.

"We've got to go for points, we slipped up at Edinburgh [6 May], we should have got something there, they weren't that strong, but we were weak in certain areas," said Simmons.

"A draw or better at Workington would be excellent."
