King's Lynn Stars boss fumes after Eagles loss

King's Lynn Stars boss Rob Lyon was left to rue a refereeing decision after Wednesday's 46-43 defeat by Eastbourne.

Lyon was furious with the match official's call to disqualify Mads Korneliussen in heat five after a tussle with Bjarne Pedersen.

"The referee's decisions were awful," Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk after the top of the table Elite League clash.

"I think that was an awful decision, everybody in the pits was amazed it went that way."

He added: "But we came back strongly and we fought all the way to the end.

"But in heat 15, when it looked like we'd nick the victory, Kenneth Bjerre's engine goes and the win with it."

The Stars' disappointment at losing the meeting in the final heat will be compounded by the news Olly Allen has suffered a recurrence of his collar bone injury.

The King's Lynn captain fell in his first ride of the night and is out of Thursday's trip to Birmingham Brummies.
