  1. Goodbye

Karolina Pliskova has earned herself £135,000 in prize money in Eastbourne.

Not bad for an hour-and-a-bits work.

    Thanks for your company.

    Time to head to Wimbledon!

  3. 'One of the best performances'

    Pliskova 6-1 6-4 Kerber

    Sam Smith

Former British number one on BBC TV

I think that's one of the best performances we've seen on this court.

It was such an intelligent display. The way Pliskova mixed up her serving, Kerber didn't know which way to go and was standing so far back.

And there was clear thinking on her return of Kerber's serve, she changed the pace of her shots and gave Kerber constant problems to solve.

  4. 'Pliskova just too good'

    Pliskova 6-1 6-4 Kerber

    Anne Keothavong

Former British number one on BBC TV

Pliskova was too good but the first few games were crucial because Kerber allowed Pliskova to impose herself.

Kerber never gave up but came up against an opponent who was just too good on the day.

  5. 'I didn't drop a set'

    Pliskova 6-1 6-4 Kerber

Karolina Pliskova on winning at Eastbourne: "All week I was playing quite perfect tennis and didn't drop a set.

"Angelique for sure is one of the best grass court players. It's my third final and in two of them I have won. I just enjoy myself here."

    Karolina Pliskova
  6. 'Wimbledon will be special moment'

    Pliskova 6-1 6-4 Kerber

Angelique Kerber on finishing runner-up: "This tournament is the best preparation before going to Wimbledon. Going back to Wimbledon as defending champion will be a really special moment.

"I have a lot of memories and emotions from last year. I'm feeling good and hopefully I can continue my play from last year."

Pliskova is back on action on Monday at Wimbledon. She tells the Eaastbourne crowd it is "not the best" timing.

  8. Post update

    Pliskova 6-1 6-4 Kerber

Pliskova lets out a huge yell of delight as she seals her second Eastbourne title in three attempts. Poor Angelique Kerber.

When was the last time someone won Eastbourne and went on to win Wimbledon?

Pliskova is heading to the Grand Slam in excellent form.

  10. Post update

    Sam Smith

Former British number one on BBC TV at Eastbourne

Pliskova has played with fire in this set because you cannot take chances against a good player like Kerber.

You have to finish them off or they will come back and make you pay for it.

  11. Post update

    * Pliskova 6-1 5-4 Kerber

Kerber hangs on to hold serve but Pliskova is serving for the match and looking to get over the finishing line.

  12. Post update

    Pliskova 6-1 5-3 Kerber*

Karolina Pliskova is a game away from the title!

She is aided by a dream net roll which pops into her opponents' half.

Kerber is suddenly showing some versatility but has she left herself too much to do?

  13. Post update

    Sam Smith

Former British number one on BBC TV

Kerber is really getting her hooks into this second set. She has the fitness and the ability to sit behind the baseline and defend all day long.

  14. Post update

    * Pliskova 6-1 4-3 Kerber

Angelique Kerber survives three break points which would have left Karolina Pliskova serving for the title.

That's more like it. A marathon game goes in the German's favour.

    Angelique Kerber
  15. Post update

    Pliskova 6-1 4-2 Kerber*

Two aces by Pliskova to move to within two games of victory.

Brilliant stuff by the Czech who is throwing herself around the court despite the stifling conditions.

  16. Post update

    * Pliskova 6-1 3-2 Kerber

Better by Angelique Kerber! Much better.

Those battling qualities she has been hiding finally reveal themselves as she wins only her third game.

Pliskova still has work to do.

  17. Post update

    Pliskova 6-1 3-1 Kerber*

This is turning into a walk in the park for Karolina Pliskova.

I'm pretty certain she expected a tougher examination than this.

Pliskova's serve has been excellent this afternoon and she wins the fourth game of the second set with the aid of an ace.

  18. Post update

    * Pliskova 6-1 2-1 Kerber

Angelique Kerber wins only her second game despite a double fault!

Pliskova is still very much in control.

  19. Post update

    Pliskova 6-1 2-0 Kerber*

    All credit to Karolina Pliskova.

She has come out all guns blazing and her no-nonsense approach has left her opponent flummoxed.

  20. Post update

    *Pliskova 6-1 1-0 Kerber

    Kerber a break down!

She is showing glimpses of what she is capable of but not enough.

Pliskova is winning in all departments. This is so one-sided...
