  6. 'We are getting in the groove'

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

    Serena and Andy

Serena Williams on how her partnership with Andy Murray is progressing: "We are getting in the groove with things already. It's good, we have only had a couple of matches but finding some rhythm and hopefully we can continue to feel it."

Are you enjoying being an honorary Brit? "I am having a blast. Obviously it has been great atmosphere playing out there with Andy, so it is great."

  7. 'Martin will be having nightmares'

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

    John Lloyd

    Former GB Davis Cup captain

Murray was a support player - she was returning the ball like a football. It was some of the best returning I've seen in a mixed doubles.

Fabrice Martin will be having nightmares tonight seeing those Williams forehands going past him.

  8. 'Serena is the boss!'

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

Here is Andy Murray: "She returned brilliant, especially at the end of the first set/beginning of the second - clean winners a lot of the time, making my job easy but I was missing mine on break points.

"Overall we both played well, Serena returned extremely well and if she keeps returning like that we've got a good chance.

"It's great for me just now, all matches are good. Doubles especially is good for reactions and reflexes, which is something that's helped the last four or five weeks for me. Hopefully once we're finished I'll get back and start practising some more singles."

On their doubles nickname: "I think Serena is the boss so whatever she says goes!"

  9. 'They were in a much better rhythm'

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

    Chanda Rubin

American former world number six at Wimbledon

It was a fun match. There were a lot of fantastic rallies. Serena and Andy looked like they were in a much better rhythm.

That duo made them work for it. Finally Andy and Serena were able to capitalise in the end.,

  10. Powerful Williams winner seals the first set

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

This kind of sums up the match.

Serena Williams ripping winners from all angles as she mixes with the big (in the case of Fabrice Martin very big) boys.

  11. 'The edge went with the better returners'

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

    Laura Robson

    British tennis player

The two pairs were pretty evenly matched but the edge went with the better returners – specifically Serena.

But, seeing two world-class players together on Centre Court, you cannot ask for a better Tuesday night.

  12. Game, set and match Murray/Williams

    Murray/Williams 7-5 6-3 Martin/Atawo

And Andy Murray's wicked wide serve is the final shot of the match!

Round three and the top-seeded Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar are the next stop for this newly minted mixed-doubles duo.

  14. Martin/Atawo hold

    *Murray/Williams 7-5 5-3 Martin/Atawo

The Raquel Atawo serve comes under a little pressure as Andy Murray and Serena Williams work up deuce.

Fabrice Martin though is filling the front court like a rain-delay tarpaulin, volleying away to seal the game.

Murray to serve for the match next though..

  15. 'Don't patronise me' - Konta hits back at journalist

    Video content

Video caption: Konta reacts to a journalist's 'patronising' question after her defeat by Strycova

    This is certainly worth watching.

Earlier, Johanna Konta's Wimbledon hopes ended for another year when she was defeated by Barbora Strycova 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 in her quarter-final.

The Briton was edged out in the first set tie-break having led 4-1 in games and was then guilty of several errors in the second set, especially with her forehand, which resulted in a surprise defeat.

In the post-match news conference, she reacted negatively to a journalist's questions.

  16. Murray/Williams holds

    Murray/Williams 7-5 4-2 Martin/*Atawo does Williams with a hold to love.

An hour and 28 minutes and 18 games gone. It is whipping by.

  17. Martin/Atawo hold

    Murray/*Williams 7-5 4-2 Martin/Atawo

Fabrice Martin holds up his end..

  18. Murray/Williams holds

    Murray/Williams 7-5 4-1 *Martin/Atawo

Andy Murray whops down an ace as he holds serve with room to spare. Serena Williams chuckles and slaps her partner's hand at the changeover.

  19. Martin/Atawo hold

    *Murray/Williams 7-5 3-1 Martin/Atawo

Raquel Atawo pings away the final winner, splitting the Williams/Murray axis of excellence right though the middle.
