Everyone has contributed to this win. It wasn't an easy, comfortable tie for GB.

  3. 'This tie was hardly meaningless'

GB captain Leon Smith: "We have great fun every time we come together. Cam said it there - he would have learnt a lot from Friday. To get the response like he's done, it takes a lot of credit to Cam.

"We have a great team spirit. What's important is that before this weekend, a lot of people were saying it was a meaningless tie. I think you've seen from both teams, and how the crowd have reacted, this was hardly meaningless. It was brilliant.

"The crowd like home ties, and so do we. We wanted to win this so we're seeded for the draw. The new format, now the decision has been made, we have to embrace it. The big thing for us is we're seeded now and we get a draw we could be successful in. Now we're in it we want to be part of it in November. We want to get as many fans in as possible."

More from Cameron Norrie: "I forgot to thank Leon, so thanks to Leon! I was pretty nervous coming in to the tie today and Friday but the crowd got me through it. It's always difficult playing your first home tie but I learnt a lot this weekend and I'm really proud of the team."

  5. 'Thanks to my Dad for sitting still'

Cameron Norrie, speaking on court: "It's an extremely proud moment. The crowd were awesome. Big thanks to my Dad for actually staying put in his seat today - he was pretty nervous the other day!"

  6. Post update

So Great Britain will be seeded for February's qualifying event.

A quick reminder of how the new Davis Cup will look...

    • The reformed event would see matches played over the best of three sets, culminating in a World Cup-style tournament to determine the world champions
    • Twenty-four teams would compete in home and away ties in February, with 12 winning teams advancing to the finals in November
    • The four semi-finalists from the previous year's tournament, plus two wildcards, would complete the 18 teams

"Oh, great!" shouts Leon Smith as Norrie whips an angled return of serve past his opponent.

With what we have seen of Norrie here - he's going to be a valuable member for GB for years to come. Especially after what we saw in that first match - his attitude has been excellent.

    *Norrie 6-2 6-2 2-0 Fayziev

Norrie squanders a 30-0 lead with a missed forehand, although the Brit gets his nose in front as Fayziev sends his backhand into the net.

That's a double fault from Norrie, though, and we're heading to deuce.

  19. Norrie breaks

    *Norrie 6-2 6-2 2-0 Fayziev

Fayziev nails a first serve to save one break point - but that's a tired mishit from the Uzbek, and Norrie has an early break!

That is one of the best forehands from Norrie in the match. He's not hit that many clean winners - I'm sure it's an area of his game he will want to develop a bit more.
