  1. Goodbye!

We're going to end this live text here.

You can still watch some tennis at the top of this page - Jamie Murray and Victoria Azarenka are in mixed doubles action underneath the Centre Court roof, and Heather Watson is also playing out on court three.

    We'll be back tomorrow, when it's women's quarter-final day.

  2. 'I had to hang in there'

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 6-2 Khachanov

Novak Djokovic on his win over Karen Khachanov:

"He started off with a break of serve, he made a couple of great shots, so not the best start. He’s got weapons, a big serve and a strong forehand.

"I got a lot of first serves in, made him hit the extra ball. I served well when I needed to. It was difficult conditions, in the last few games I couldn’t see the ball that well and it was very windy so I had to hang in there.

On his next opponent, Kei Nishikori: "Nishikori and I have played a couple of times this year on clay, on grass it is a different game. This is his first quarter-finals at Wimbledon. Big match player, established top player who has struggled with injury. He has proven so many times he can be a contender for all the big titles."

    • Djokovic v Nishikori
    • Nadal v Del Potro or Simon (Del Potro leads two sets to one)
  5. Post update

    Jonathan Jurejko

    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic still isn’t at his 12-time Grand Slam winning best but he’s moving closer to it on the evidence of this performance.

(Although I said this at Roland Garros and then he lost to Marco Cecchinato in the quarters...)

He won 51% of the points on Karen Khachanov’s serve, covering almost 800 feet more than the Russian, as he ground his opponent down.

Djokovic is so happy he brings that sweep to the sky celebration back after leaving it at home in his win over Kyle Edmund.

  6. Women's quarter-finals

Here's how the women's matches line up:

    • Cibulkova v Ostapenko
    • Kasatkina v Kerber
    • Bertens v Georges
    • S Williams v Giorgi
  7. 'Djokovic is a contender'

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 6-2 Khachanov

    Todd Woodbridge

Former Wimbledon doubles winner on BBC TV

I rate that as one of the cleanest performances from Novak since his surgery.

He dropped the opening serve and broke right back. Then he set about tactically undoing the Russian.

His ball-striking was good, his temperament was good and he becomes a contender.

  8. Post update

    Up next for Novak Djokovic?

    Kei Nishikori.

  9. Game, set and match - Djokovic

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 6-2 Khachanov

A long, long rally - and it goes the way of Novak Djokovic!

Karen Khachanov guides a backhand into the net and with that, Djokovic is through to the quarter-finals.

  10. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

A loopy forehand from Karen Khachanov is thrashed away by Novak Djokovic.

    Here's match point number three.

  11. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

    Todd Woodbridge

Former Wimbledon doubles winner on BBC TV

Djokovic has read the serve so well today. Taken the big weapon away from the Russian.

  12. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

And again, Novak Djokovic goes into the net!

  13. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

That's a brilliant service return from Novak Djokovic.

    He's got another match point.

  14. Play suspended - bad light

    Del Potro 7-6 (7-1) 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 Simon

Common sense has prevailed on court two at the end of the third set and play is suspended. It's been a great battle between these two so it should be an intriguing finish tomorrow.

  15. Khachanov saves match point

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

Djokovic is going to have to wait a little longer, as he lashes a forehand long.

  16. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

Karen Khachanov hits a ball off the top of his racquet, and it's match point Djokovic.

  17. Post update

    Djokovic 6-4 6-2 5-2 Khachanov*

    It's getting dark out there.

Karen Khachanov, serving to stay in the match, gets himself to a 30-15 lead, but a series of errors on the forehand take us to deuce.

  18. Game and third set

    Del Potro 7-6 (7-1) 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 Simon

Just when it looked like this was heading to a tie-break Gilles Simon has pulled a rabbit out the hat and breaks Juan Martin del Potro's serve. The Frenchman punches the air in delight.

Given the fading light Juan Martin del Potro asks umpire if the match will continue. The Argentine doesn't look particularly keen to carry on, In fact neither does Simon!

  19. Post update

    *Murray & Azarenka 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (6-8) Gronefeld & Farah

It's a tight match on Centre Court. Jamie Murray and Victoria Azarenka have lost the second set tie-break after claiming the first.

They're playing for a place in the mixed doubles third round.
