  1. Post update

Karolina Pliskova: "Johanna gave me a tough battle, it could not have been better preparation for Wimbledon. I am serving pretty well and I'm happy that I am winning the close ones.

"Dominika is tough a great fighter who is playing great tennis, but I think if I play like today I have a chance to win."

  2. Game, set and match Pliskova

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 3-6 Pliskova

A walloped return comes off the strings like they are laced with semtex and the deal is sealed.

It will be Karolina Pliskova rather than Johanna Konta in Saturday's final.

  3. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 3-5 Pliskova

Johanna Konta has a right old heave at the Pliskova serve, but the edifice stays standing.

The Czech is just a game away.

  4. Post update

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 3-4 *Pliskova

Johanna Konta has some joy as she drags Karolina Pliskova out the wings.

The Czech does not so comfortable out in the wide wasteland - partly because her height makes it hard to get down to low, skidding balls.

That same height is what helps her get the pop on the serve though so swings, roundabouts.

  5. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 2-4 Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova is chugging along with the certainty of the Zurich to Geneva special.

    Another hold.

Another two in that mould and she is home and hosed.

  6. Post update

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 2-3 *Pliskova

Johanna Konta wins a massive point at 30-30, getting lucky as a mis-hit volley drops the right side of the tramline.

    Could she?

Pliskova needs to get a little yippy.

  7. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 1-3 Pliskova

Where is this see-saw going to settle?

Karolina Pliskova comes off the boil and hands back one of her two breaks by return of post.

  8. Pliskova breaks

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 0-3 *Pliskova

Johanna Konta went through the mill emotionally and physically in that game - saving four break points but finally folding on the fifth with a double fault.

Konta smacked a ball into the sky in frustration to incur a code violation and - after calling for the coach at the end of the game - was disconsolate in her discussions with Esteban Carril.

  9. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 0-2 Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova has won all four of her previous meetings with Johanna Konta.

And the Czech looks like she has plugged into the memory banks and is making big withdrawals of confidence.

Konta takes another spill at the back of the court. She is up. But unless there is a momentum shift soon. She may soon be out as well.

  10. Pliskova breaks

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 2-6 0-1 *Pliskova

Johanna Konta looks like a battery bunny who has run low.

Half a yard slower in pace, her chin half an inch closer to her chest and it might be that the exertions of earlier today have caught up with her.

Pliskova with the early advantage in the third set.

  11. Game and second set Pliskova

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 Pliskova

It seemed like a chance for Johanna Konta - but Karolina Pliskova made sure that it was as slim as a supermodel with some commanding serving.

    We are into a decider.

  12. Pliskova saves two break points, deuce

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-5 *Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova serves and volleys old-school style to see off the danger.

  13. Two break points Konta

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-5 Pliskova*

    Jitters? just a tad.

A double-fault hands Johanna Konta a couple of chance at 15-40...

  14. Post update

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 3-5 *Pliskova

Johanna Konta holds serve to keep her cards on the table.

Karoline Pliskova has been commanding on serve in this set, but it is strange juice you sip as you try to close out.

  15. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 2-5 Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova shows no sign of releasing her grip on this second set.

A composed and clinical service game from the Czech and some of the early resolve seems to have ebbed out of Konta.

She serves to stay in the set next.

  16. Post update

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 2-4 *Pliskova

A lady was taken ill in the crowd before the players remerged for the next game. That caused a delay that may have allowed Johanna Konta to recover some composure.

The British number one is back locked in and holds to 30.

  17. Pliskova sees off three break points to hold

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 1-4 Pliskova

Johanna Konta comes yapping back at Karolina Pliskova like an angry terrier, working up 0-40, but she cannot make it stick.

She slips on the first break point, picking herself up gingerly after getting closely acquainted with the Devonshire Park turf.

Pliskova serves big, picking two aces out of the quiver and then makes her escape from deuce.

Konta sobs in exasperation as she discusses tactics with coach Esteban Carril at the the change of ends.

  18. Pliskova breaks

    Konta 7-6 (7-5) 1-3 *Pliskova

Karoline Pliskova makes the second break point stick as Johanna Konta dribbles a backhand wide.

  19. Two break points Pliskova

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 1-2 Pliskova

Johanna Konta goes to the drop-shot well once too often.

Karolina Pliskova reads it, runs it down and has 15-40.

  20. Post update

    *Konta 7-6 (7-5) 1-2 Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova chucks down a service hold to love of her own. Plenty of pep in her serve and Johanna Konta is struggling to get a read on it.

    On point at a time...
