  3. What is it?

The British National Squash Championships are held annually in February at the National Squash Centre in Manchester.

The Championships have been running since the 1970s and attract more than 400 players across 19 categories, from the men’s and women’s main draws right up to the over 80 category.

The top male and female players from across the UK and Ireland compete to win the coveted tournament with stars such as three-time world champion Nick Matthew and World No.4 Laura Massaro taking part.

  4. Get inspired: how to get involved with Squash?

Squash and squash 57 are highly sociable activities and with games lasting for as little as 30 minutes, hiring a court is an easy way of fitting exercise in during your lunchbreak.

Most leisure centres let you pay and play without signing up for a membership, and courts cost around £5 per hour.

Mini Squash is the ideal introduction to squash for children.
