  1. Festive goal feast in the Premiership

Well what a night that was. 14 goals across four Premiership matches that had everything - goals, wonder-goals, penalties, missed penalties, red cards, comebacks, controversy........

Game of the night was at Dens Park where Dundee rallied from 2-0 down to beat Hearts 3-2.

There was another cracker at Fir Park where Aberdeen downed Motherwell 3-1. Niall McGinn rounded off the scoring for the Dons but Well striker Scott McDonald's goal will live long in the memory. Surely a goal of the season contender.

Partick Thistle's recent encouraging displays on the road were finally rewarded with an impressive win at Ross County, the 3-1 scoreline not in any way flattering Alan Archibald's men.

Only one goal at Rugby Park but it was enough to give St Johnstone all three points against Kilmarnock.

Keep across the BBC Sport Scotland website for reports, reaction and highlights from all this evening's matches.

Just two more sleeps until Christmas but only one until two more festive Premiership fixtures - Hamilton v Celtic and Rangers v Inverness Caledonian Thistle tomorrow.

Join us for full live coverage of those games. Thanks for your company and contributions this evening.

  2. McGhee fumes at 'ridiculous' Well defending

    FT: Motherwell 1-3 Aberdeen

"The two goals we conceded in the first half were ludicrous. It was a joke really, a total joke and it’s cost us the game in the end.

"We weren’t out-played, we weren’t out-fought, we weren’t out-run. We just made ridiculous mistakes in the first half that put us in a difficult position that we couldn’t get back.

"The third goal is a total irrelevance. We’re trying to chase the game and it’s desperation at that stage. The two goals in the first half were ridiculous.

"I’m hugely disappointed with the result, I’m hugely disappointed with those two goals but I’m not at all disappointed with the performance."

It has been a difficult start for Hearts head coach Ian Cathro. Losing to Rangers, being booed off after drawing with Partick Thistle, and tonight seeing his side throw a way a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Dundee.

  4. FULL-TIME Dundee 3-2 Hearts

What an extraordinary evening at Dens Park.

Jamie Walker's third minute penalty got Hearts off to a flier, and they looked well on course for victory when Callum Paterson doubled their lead early in the second-half.

However, the wheels came off for the visitors as Dundee roared back to level with goals from Darren O'Dea and Paul McGowan.

The comeback was completed in the 93rd minute winner when Paterson headed into his own net to leave Ian Cathro still searching for his first win since taking charge at Hearts.

Dundee move up to seventh while Hearts remain in fourth.

  5. FULL-TIME Motherwell 1-3 Aberdeen

An enthralling spectacle at Fir Park.

Aberdeen took the lead through Graeme Shinnie on six minutes before Scott McDonald's stunning effort brought the home side level.

Adam Rooney scored on the rebound after seeing his penalty saved by Craig Samson, while Louis Moult saw his spot-kick at the other end pushed away by Joe Lewis.

The visitors peppered the Motherwell goal in the second period and finally got their reward when Niall McGinn smashed home a wonderful third to seal the points.

Derek McInnes' side move within four points of second-placed Rangers in the Premiership.

  6. FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 0-1 St Johnstone

Murray Davidson's goal proved the difference as St Johnstone head back to Perth with the points.

A disappointing evening for the home side was capped by Luke Hendrie's red card in second-half stoppage time.

Killie drop down to eight in the table, with St Johnstone remain in fifth, one point behind Hearts but with a game in hand.

  7. GOAL Dundee 3-2 Hearts

    Marcus Haber

    What a turnaround at Dens!

Marcus Haber's bullet header looks to have snatched victory at the death for Dundee, who have hauled themselves back from 2-0 down.

Ian Cathro will have to wait for his first victory as Hearts boss.

  8. GOAL Motherwell 1-3 Aberdeen

    Niall McGinn

Jonny Hayes races down the left hand side on the counter attack and lays the ball off to Niall McGinn whose left foot shot gives Motherwell goalkeeper Craig Samson little chance.

  9. FULL-TIME Ross County 1-3 Partick

    Martin Dowden

BBC Sport Scotland at Victoria Park

Nothing left to say other than well done Patrick Thistle. They have been impressive and, on this occasion, clinical.

Not many teams come to Dingwall and contain County in this manner - all the more impressive when you consider the home side were on a six-game unbeaten run coming into this.

Thistle will move off bottom spot and now have two home games against teams around them which will prove vital in the long run.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 St Johnstone

Saints really upping the ante here as they look to put Killie to bed. It's another former Hibs midfielder, Liam Craig, who's next to try his luck. His left-foot effort comes back off the base of the post from just outside the box.

  11. Dominant Dons

    Motherwell 1-2 Aberdeen

    Jonathan Sutherland

BBC Sport Scotland at Fir Park

Aberdeen the better side in this second-half. They look confident with the the 2-1 lead, and if any side looks like scoring again it is undoubtedly the Dons.

  12. CLOSE!

    Kilmarnock 0-1 St Johnstone

A fantastic weaving run from David Wotherspoon culminates in a low shot from the 18-yard line, drawing a decent save from Killie goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald.

    Motherwell 1-2 Aberdeen

Craig Samson keeps Motherwell in the game.

Johnny Hayes drives in off his left wing to curl a right-foot effort towards the bottom corner but Samson gets down to turn the ball around the post.

    Terrific save.

  14. Dundee in ascendancy as Hearts wilt

    Dundee 2-2 Hearts

    Brian McLauchlin

BBC Sport Scotland at Dens Park

The whole complexion of the game has changed as Dundee, who looked dead and buried when Callum Paterson knocked in Hearts' second goal, have somehow clawed their way back.

The lengthy delay for the injury to Don Cowie appears to have upset the visitors, with Paul Hartleys team now in the ascendancy.

  15. GOAL Ross County 1-3 Partick Thistle

    Liam Boyce (83 mins)

County, who have been way off the pace in this game, hit back with seven minutes left.  Right-back Marcus Fraser gets to the bye-line and sends in a superb cross. Liam Boyce jumps highest to power in a header from the six-yard spot. That's his 11th goal of the season, and fifth goal in six games.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 St Johnstone

Killie goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald somehow denies Graham Cummins with a superb double-save, as St Johnstone look to kill the hosts off.

  17. Davidson's goal has Saints ahead

    Kilmarnock 0-1 St Johnstone

There's not much in this one at a very blustery Rugby Park, but it's this neat finish from Murray Davidson that has St Johnstone ahead.
