Thanks for your company this evening, it was a thrilling match thankfully. Much more entertaining than the theatre, as Richard Cockerill had suggested.

Glasgow take a precious victory, but the Pro14 doesn't return for a few weeks.

More from Danny Wilson: "A massive credit as well for that forward pack in how they've turned their scrum performance around, and also to Fraser Brown who was a big part of that coaching, he's helped me out quite a lot in the past ten days to turn things around.

"You're going from can you hold your own? Which we didn't do down at Murrayfield to being completely dominant in the first few scrums and getting the ball in and getting a penalty.

"The likes of [Zander] Fagerson and people like that who drive that, along with the work that's gone in this week was really pleasing. You have to have a set piece performance when you play Edinburgh.

"They are extremely passionate about their set piece and its important to match that when you play them."

'A happy changing room' - Wilson

Glasgow head coach Danny Wilson is a relieved man after his team survived for a precious win - especially as they didn't look to kick the ball out when the clock was red!

"It's a happy changing room," he said. "To win a derby after a few weeks without a win is really pleasing. If I'm honest we could've and should've won by a bit more but the important thing is to get a win.

"What I found out frighteningly was that the boys thought it was over two games when it's been over three games for the past few years!"

Edinburgh have problems with their backs. They lack consistency in that part of their game. They probably are doing stuff in training but not getting that on to the pitch, which is probably Cockerill's plan to get them to another level.

Cockerill bemoans discipline

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill has been giving his thoughts on BBC Radio Scotland.

"I think the 20 minutes after half-time we were ill-disciplined we gave silly penalties away," he said. "It was a decent game of rugby, we played pretty well and scored three tries but we gave them easy ins and they took them."

On Nic Groom's bizarre kicking error which cost his side three points, Cockerill said:"He seemed a bit confused about where the clock was and what was happening.

"I think with the train going past and blowing its horn it got him confused - not that we've played with a hooter in the two years he's been here. He's not to blame for losing the game but those tiny little moments in tight games - it always comes back to that.

"But we did some fantastic things as well."

The pleasing thing is that the team who won deserved to win (only just). Glasgow had less errors and dominated the majority of the scrums. Overall they had the better performers. They started the second half really well, they exploited that mistake from Kinghorn, you know, they took it and they ran with it.

Things looking up for Warriors

That one win takes Glasgow off the bottom of Conference B and things just look a bit more positive.

Albeit, we're about to enter Six Nations time when all their best players depart again...

Going in to the game last week, everyone in the Glasgow squad was looking forward to it. Having it called off was disappointing. Glasgow approached the game differently to how they have been playing this season. It was pleasing to see them play on the front foot and not try and slow the game down, especially after giving away seven penalties at Murrayfield a few weeks ago. Just a great performance tonight from them.

The second half was tremendous fun. Fraser Brown doing his nut was one of my highlights. It started off well for Glasgow. Turner coming back on made it better, getting involved about three or four times in tries.

Glasgow perhaps thought they were playing for another three points to win the 1872 Cup - but there is another game to come later in the season!

Anyway, what a win for the Warriors. It's been a dismal season, so an important four points.

What a bizarre end to this game. Goodness knows why Glasgow didn't just boot the ball out, and then, when they got the penalty just tap and then boot it out!

Ross Thompson misses the penalty, it goes dead, and it is all over. Stuff the theatre, that was a great game.

Eroni Sau, it was a great finish. If you're going to have an impact on the game it might as well be at the end.

Ollie Smith is just on the pitch for his Glasgow debut, and his first task is to stop big Fijian Sau from crashing over in the left-hand corner. Obviously, he had no chance. What a try.

But, the crucial conversion from the touchline is MISSED by Jaco van der Walt!

Glasgow need to try and force Edinburgh's defenders wider out so if they do get the try, it becomes a bit more of a difficult kick.

Chris Dean thought he'd powered over in the corner! But the touch judge had his flag up!

That would have been an incredible finish to hold off two defenders.

It was advantage Edinburgh for offside, so they'll get another chance.
