  1. Try review

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

We are going to the TMO in the truck to find out. Romain Poite is working the tape recorder...

  2. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

Italy give away another penalty in the front row. Ireland have a quick chat about a scrum-down. But Ronan Kelleher opts to tap and go instead!

  3. Sin-bin - Giosue Zilocchi

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

Replacement forward Giosue Zilocchi has a dirty great paw in the honey pot, preventing Jamison Gibson-Park from whipping the ball away from the base to a queue of green-shirted try-scorers.

That is a yellow. Stonewall. Italy are a man down and pinned back on their own line...

Steve in Eastbourne: The only reason why Italy is still in the Six Nations is because Rome is a nicer place to go for the weekend than Tbilisi! Nothing wrong of course with Tbilisi..

  5. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

    David Humphreys

Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra & Radio Ulster

Italy do have the ambition to move the ball, and they can do it well but today when they have had their opportunities they have done it badly.

  6. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

Italy fall fouls of referee Mathieu Raynal once more.

David Sisi takes the line-out cleanly, but Italy are done for a truck-and-trailer offence, blocking off Ireland's pack before Sisi had returned to earth.

  7. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

Johan Meyer, Italy's try-scorer, shows the go-forward that got him over the line. And Italy have a line-out five out from the Ireland line...

Rob Young: Not sure why all the talk of Italy losing their place in the 6N. Who would replace them? Italy are rubbish but would still beat Georgia every time...

Paul Williams: I think with Italy in the Six Nations who finishes bottom i.e Italy, they should play next rank team someone like Georgia in 2-leg match for a place in the tournament. If Italy win they deserve to be there.

Andy C: All the talk of dropping Italy form the 6 nations again but very little talk of any alternatives!

  9. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

James Lowe pinballs through a couple of tackles. The wing has played well. Tadhg Beirne with a fearsome trundle down the line. Paolo Garbisi bravely throws himself in front of the hooves.

Ireland with loads of momentum, but Cian Healy knocks on.

Dominic: Re the "point of Italy" debate: are they not considering a second tier of teams to create a relegation/promotion possibility? I think it should be two teams that go up and down. This year it would very likely be Italy and England...

Gareth Jones: Italy, Georgia and perhaps Spain should play a tri-nations tournament each autumn with the winner progressing to the Six Nations

Anon: Re Derrick Roberts - perhaps you and 14 mates would like to take them on and show us all how easy it is. Show some respect!

  11. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

CJ Stander with a heavy-duty carry. Johnny Sexton with the up and under. Space wide. Garry Ringrose almost through.

Ireland are up to within five...

  12. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

Ireland are caught with a wonky line-out and Italy get a scrum just inside the visitors' half.

Callum Braley heads for the skies and Hugo Keenan collects.

Jamie, age 14: I think Ireland will win but it will be close.

Hope you're right Jamie, a late surge from Italy would be fun!

  14. Post update

    Italy 10-34 Ireland

    David Humphreys

Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra & Radio Ulster

Ireland just kept working around the corner in contrast with Italy in Ireland's 22, it was more about the power of the ball carriers which Italy just could not stop.

Ireland's body language says exactly where they are at the moment.

  15. Converted try - Italy 10-34 Ireland

    CJ Stander (Con Sexton)

And it was of course the right decision.

Ireland work through the phases from short range and it's CJ Stander who eventually barges his way over.

Bonus point secured and two more points added by Johnny Sexton.

    CJ Stander
  16. Post update

Andy O'Neill: The biggest breakdown issue is the player in the ground being allowed to roll and place the ball. It used to be a skill to tackle your man and turn him to your side. Then the ruck and counter ruck happened.

Derrick Roberts: Things more difficult than beating Italy in the Six Nations: 1: counting to two. List ends.

Alan: Re ' the point of Italy'.....I think the San Marino comment is a bit harsh. Maybe substituting Scotland or Ireland would be a more reasonable comparison. Italy are getting there - they just need to make the same connections to the Southern Hemisphere players that most of the other nations have done......discuss.

  19. 'Farrell will be pleased with large parts'

    Italy 10-27 Ireland

    David Humphreys

Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra & Radio Ulster

The score reflects Ireland's dominance, Andy Farrell will be pleased with large parts of that first half. They created opportunities, and finished them off.

You want top quality competitive games, but Italy have been given a bit of hope.
