Ireland know if they beat France with a bonus point then there is nothing else anyone can do - the title will be theirs.

If Ireland win but without a bonus point, England can win the title if they beat Italy with a bonus point and overhaul the points difference between the sides.

France need to beat Ireland and hope England's result goes their way too.

  6. 'If anyone can do it we can'

    Ireland 50-17 Italy

Ireland captain Johnny Sexton on ITV: "Pretty good. It was scrappy at times as always if you haven't played together in six or seven months. It is a special day for them [the debutants] and their families. That is what we wanted to do to - give them a special memory.

"33 points difference [over England] might not be enough now. If we got another score we might have put pressure on England. We need to go and just concentrate on our performance because France are an outstanding team.

"We will go to Paris with it all to do but we have a special group. If anyone can do it we can."

  7. Post update

Ireland go top of the standings with that win. They now know if they get a bonus-point win in Paris next week they'll win the Six Nations.

  9. Full-time

    Ireland 50-17 Italy

Italy's try is the last action of the match. A slight downer at the end of a positive day for Ireland.

Still, the Six Nations is in their hands.

    Paolo Garbisi

    Could this be crucial?

The hooter had gone but Paolo Garbisi grabs a debut try. He's the third debutant to score today. It's lovely feet from the 20-year-old.

If Ireland lose the Six Nations on points difference next week they'll be kicking themselves.

    Dave Heffernan

A punch of the air in the stands for Andy Farrell. He's delighted.

Debutant Hugo Keenan has been fantastic with his two tries and other runs, Caelan Doris has been really strong, Tadhg Beirne has had a huge game, and Johnny Sexton has not been perfect but has been very good in the big moments - those are the players who have stood out for me.

It was starting to feel that a try was inevitable after runner after runner made it over the gainline.
