  1. Post update

What a start to the Test series. Can we have Saturday night rugby every week?

It looks like we can for now as the second and final test is exactly a week today. Join us then for hopefully more of the same.

    Until then, good night.

  2. Post update

Eddie Jones looks a relieved man and he has been speaking to Eddie Butler: "It's a great result, but I am disappointed with the performance - we gave away too many points.

"But we have shown a tonne of team ethic. We had 10 young guys who come into a situation where we were chasing the game. They were fantastic. The young guys made mistakes but they did not dwell on them. Take Denny, he made two horrific defensive mistakes but then scored a fanatastic try.

"You know you have got players worth persevering with because they can bounce back like that.

"They way Argentina play, because they take risks, it gives you the chance to score tries.

"My aim is not to play like that every week, but play with more control and when we have the opportunity to use the ball, we will use the ball."

  3. 'The Lions will be watching'

    Sir Clive Woodward

England's World Cup winning coach on BBC Two

The Lions will be watching this game very closely and there were some big performances today from these young England players.

  4. Solomona scores last-minute winning try

The match is trending on Twitter, it is probably down to this last minute winner from Denny Solomona.

Keith Smithies: Just watched the most exciting game of rugby for ages. Mr Jones gets his teams playing great attacking rugby. I need a breather!

  6. Solomona's magic

    Jeremy Guscott

Former Lions and England centre on BBC Two

This kid is scoring tries, he can score from anywhere.

His weakness is in defence and you need to be all rounder on the wing to hold your position in the national side.

Josh Verrills: What a test match. Superb end to end games by two very good international teams

Andrew Priestley: Beautiful, high-tempo running rugby from both sides. Defensive structure and organisation has been forgotten about altogether!

    HeyJude: What a match ! What a watch ! Fast, furious and fantastic...congrats England...well-played

  9. Post update

    Argentina 34-38 England

    Jeremy Guscott

Former Lions and England centre on BBC Two

They don't know each other very well at all. England are coming off the back of that loss against Ireland and they had to bounce back. After that performance against the strength of the Pumas it is just so uplifting.

  10. Post update

Just to put Denny Solomona's try into context.

That was only his 16th senior game in rugby union.

  11. Post update

George Ford: "I'm relieved. That game swung both ways. We couldn't get a grip of the game, we managed to get lucky at the end with a great try by Denny.

"First game of the tour so it's nice to start with a win, we know it will be harder next week and we will have to put in a better performance."

  12. Post update

    Argentina 34-38 England

    Jeremy Guscott

Former Lions and England centre on BBC Two

I didn't think England would hold their nerve. With the inexperience coming off the bench I thought they were going to fold and collapse. But they came back and were absolutely phenomenal to play to the end.

This side got better with the tempo. Every time the game sped up they wanted to get hold of that ball and they gelled as the game went on.

  13. Post update

Date for your diary: Saturday 17 June.

    Argentina v England part II.

  14. Full-time

    Argentina 34-38 England

England win the scrum, George Ford puts the ball out of play and that's the game.

What a win, England win it at the death.

Denny Solomona, on as a sub in his first England appearance, wins the game.
