  1. Goodnight

FT: Harlequins 32-13 Wasps; Newcastle 16-14 Worcester

    Nick Evans

What a night at The Stoop. A perfect send off for Nick Evans and now Harlequins travel to Northampton for a shootout for sixth place in the Premiership. Wasps could have their own winner-takes-all game against Saracens for a home semi-final. This was not a good night for them so close to the end of the season.

Newcastle enjoyed more success at Kingston Park and remain on course for their highest finish in the table since promotion three season's ago.

Three games for you tomorrow, Saracens will hope to keep their juggernaut moving at home to Bristol. Leicester will hope to take a firm hold of fourth place against Sale at Welford Road and in the feature game of the day, Exeter host Northampton with an eye on top spot.

  2. 'Outstanding home farewell for Evans'

    FT: Harlequins 32-13 Wasps

Quote Message: No tears for a change, just relief we got the job done. What an outstanding end for Nick. I said before he’s a legend at Harlequins. He has an aura with which he goes about things. Too often you see world class players not doing the small things right but he absolutely does that for us. He’s given it everything and been at the heartbeat of our success over the years. from John Kingston Harlequins director of rugby

  3. 'Efficient Quins proved too good'

    FT: Harlequins 32-13 Wasps

Quote Message: We didn't play well, we can't hide that fact. Quins were efficient in what they did. The penalty count got us in the second half and our kicking game was poor which cost us territory. The tackle area was chaos for us, we had no quick ball and we'll have to be more effective next week to play the attacking game we want. from Dai Young, Wasps director of rugby

  4. Full-time

    Newcastle 16-14 Worcester

In a game that failed to reach any great heights, it proved a dramatic finish.

Sonatane Takulua converted his own try three minutes from the end to seal victory. The scrum-half came up with every single one of Newcastle's 16 points!

Worcester's wasteful first-half efforts ultimately cost them.

  5. Post update

    Newcastle 16-14 Worcester

    Sonatane Takulua, take a bow.

What a hugely important try for the hosts to level things up with five minutes remaining at Kingston Park. He brushes himself off and lands the conversion to kick Newcastle ahead!

He has scored every point for the hosts tonight.

Worcester were huge in defence, but were breached by that diving effort.

  6. Full-time

    Harlequins 32-13 Wasps

What a fine second half from Harlequins, continuing their dominance of the opening period but turning it into points for a big win that has given their Champions Cup hopes a huge boost.

Nick Evans pulled the strings on his Stoop swansong with 22 points.

Wasps never really showed in the whole game, they now face a very tough final game at home to Saracens to try and secure a home semi-final.

  7. Try (Marchant, con Evans)

    Harlequins 32-13 Wasps

Game over. Dave Ward, the replacement Harlequins hooker, reads space at the side of a ruck on the Wasps 22, he pops a pass to Joe Marchant and the excellent centre round off his night with a walk-in under the posts.

Nick Evans' final act is to knock over a straightforward conversion. He leaves to a standing ovation.

  8. Post update

    Harlequins 25-13 Wasps

Can Wasps provide some late drama? Danny Cipriani dances over the gain line and James Haskell barges to within 10 yards of the line.

But Mike Brown gets over the ball to force the turnover and roars his delight. That should seal the game

    Kearnan Myall of Wasps
  9. Penalty (Evans)

    Harlequins 25-13 Wasps

Harlequins hammer away at the Wasps back line and Joe Marchant makes an excellent break. He's brought down just short of the line and in the scramble to keep him out, Joe Launchbury kills the ball and is sent to the sin-bin.

It's a penalty in the shadow of the posts and Nick Evans can back-heel this one over. Are Harlequins home here?

  10. Post update

    Newcastle 9-14 Worcester

Worcester are over again! They made it look so hard in the first-half, now they are just making it look good.

Wynand Olivier finishes off a fine move, which started with an outstanding break by Perry Humphreys.

The try is enough to edge Warriors ahead with 22 minute remaining and Ryan Mills adds the extras to nudge them further in front.

  11. Penalty (Evans)

    Harlequins 22-13 Wasps

    Nick Evans

Willie Le Roux returns for Wasps and the visitors have managed the period a man down quite well, the points difference remaining the same.

But the first thing Le Roux does is go offside from a line-out with his fellow backs and that man Nick Evans again extends Harlequins' lead.

  12. Try (Penalty, con Mills)

    Newcastle 9-7 Worcester

Line out between Newcastle and Worcester

Worcester come up with a penalty try from a maul after 53 minutes. Finally, a breakthrough for the visitors.

Will Welch is sin-binned in the process for Newcastle and this match is suddenly alive as a contest as Ryan Mills converts!

  13. Penalty (Gopperth)

    Harlequins 19-13 Wasps

A silly penalty given away from Kyle Sinckler. Harlequins had the first penalty at the maul but Sinckler throws a white shirt to the ground after the whistle and Wayne Barnes reverses his decision.

Jimmy Gopperth goes for the line-out and another penalty gives the outside half a chance from just outside the 22 and he nudges Wasps back to within six.

  14. Penalty (Evans)

    Harlequins 19-10 Wasps

A well-weighted chip over the midfield from Nick Evans presents a contest between Joe Marchant and Willie Le Roux. Marchant gets there first and Le Roux catches the Quins man in the air and receives a yellow-card.

It allows Evans to line up another shot at goal and he knocks over a fourth penalty. Wasps with problems now.

  15. Post update

    Newcastle 9-0 Worcester

Newcastle extend their lead with Sonatane Takulua slotting his third penalty of the night.

Worcester have made a slow start to this second half, having been the more industrious of the two sides before the break.

  16. Kick-off

    Newcastle 6-0 Worcester

Things are back up and running at Kingston Park.

Worcester may have nothing to show for the first 40 minutes, but they were on top for so long.

The visitors now have plenty to do if they are to turn things around.

  17. Penalty (Evans)

    Harlequins 16-10 Wasps

    Nick Evans

Tim Visser again up the left touchline gets Harlequins on the front foot. Then Kyle Sinckler with a good carry towards the 22. Wasps knock-on and Quins - not for the first time tonight - have a great attacking scrum.

Not directly from the set-piece this time, but they are turned over again and Wasps can clear. But a high-tackle from the subsequent attack provides Evans with another chance from the tee and again he's on target from 30 yards out.

  18. Try (Visser, con Evans)

    Harlequins 13-10 Wasps

Kurtley Beale takes a huge chance, sprinting out of the line on half-way to go for the intercept - if he makes the catch he scores. But the pass just evades him, Chris Robshaw takes it, gallops forward and sends Tim Visser down the left wing to score.

It's a marvelous conversion by Nick Evans from the touchline.

  19. Half-time

    Newcastle 6-0 Worcester

Marco Mama of Worcester Warriors runs with the ball

This is the picture of much of the first half - Worcester bodies running hard at Newcastle's defence.

However, the visitors have butchered a number of scoring chances.

In response, Newcastle have played it cool and have landed two penalties to lead.

  20. Kick-off

    Harlequins 6-10 Wasps

Back underway at The Stoop. You feel Wasps have much more to give in this game and resume with a narrow advantage.
