At Twickenham, England's unblemished run under coach Eddie Jones continued as they ended a ten-year wait for a win over South Africa.

Video caption: Highlights: Scotland 22-23 Australia

At Murrayfield, Scotland were left frustrated once again as Australia, down to 14 men, scored a late try to nick victory by a point.

So let's wrap up what has gone on today. Let's start off in Cardiff where Wales held off Argentina, without totally managing to convince.

    Reggie Corrigan

Former Ireland prop on BBC Radio UIster

All credit to Canada, we knew they'd come here and provide a physical battle but they put up a real solid performance and they've really improved since the last time I've seen them.

  6. Post update

    Ireland 52-21 Canada

Canada captain DTH van der Merwe: "We have to be ready to not let them straight back into the game and let the momentum shift, we need to learn from this.

"It's tough, we only get together twice a year, when I came into the camp this year I met 10 or 12 new guys I'd never met before! But we can't make excuses, we have to start somewhere."

  7. Post update

    Ireland 52-21 Canada

Ireland captain Peter O'Mahony: "The most pleasing thing was seeing the new lads doing well, it was a great performance by some of the young lads.

"We got a bit disjointed at times but Canada put us under a lot of pressure and I'm very proud of the performance in the second-half.

"We've got a big recovery few days coming up, we'll come back and put in another performance against the All Blacks."

  8. Post update

    Ireland 52-21 Canada

Joe Schmidt's men make their way to the sidelines.

A creditable performance from Ireland's second string, but thoughts immediately wander to next weekend's meeting with the All Blacks.

    Tony Ward

    Former Ireland fly-half

That is the cherry on the cake from James Tracy, Ireland attacking in wave after wave.

You have to say it has been a very entertaining match with total commitment from both sides.

  12. Try - James Tracey

    Ireland 52-21 Canada

Ireland debutant James Tracey burrows over from close range after Dave Kilcoyne's romp through the loose.

Joey Carbery's kick against the post and back out is the last act of the match.

    Tony Ward

    Former Ireland fly-half

You've got to say that has been total rugby for that try, every player touched the ball in the move.

Joey Carbery offers a real point of difference of the bench, he's got a spark with ball in hand, he could be an option off the bench over Jackson next week, even though Paddy was perfect with the boot today.

  14. Try - Tiernan O'Halloran

    Ireland 47-21 Canada

Canada chased back well, but they could not hold Ireland at bay. Tiernan O'Halloran, up from full-back, makes the extra man on the end of a blindside thurst and dots down.

Joey Carbery cannot make the kick from way, way out wide.

    Ireland 42-21 Canada

Garry Ringrose scampers though and into oceans of space in the soft underbelly of the Canada defence. He links up with Keith Earls and Ireland are up to within five metres.

  16. Post update

    Ireland 42-21 Canada

This game is trundling to a conclusion rather than accelerating towards the finishline.

The two packs get bogged down in a series of scrums in midfield.

  17. Post update

    Ireland 42-21 Canada

Joey Carbery makes a big call, coming surging out of the defensive line, and he makes it work for Ireland as he snags his target.

Excellent work. Canada had a man overlap there and Carbery stopped them at source.

  18. Replacement

    Ireland 42-21 Canada

Joe Schmidt completes his half-back freshen-up as Leinster's Joey Carbery comes on in place of Paddy Jackson at 10.

    Reggie Corrigan

Former Ireland prop on BBC Radio UIster

Great play by the home pack, Canada are very tired and their set piece is falling to pieces.

I think that Marmion has put his hand up very well to be second behind Conor Murray today - Murray is the number one scrum-half in world rugby at the moment in my opinion.

  20. Converted try - Kieran Marmion

    Ireland 42-21 Canada

Ireland shovel the Canada pack back over their own line and Kieran Marmion dives in among the legs to get downward pressure on the ball and claim a try.

That is his last involvement. Luke McGrath is on in his place.
