  1. Goodbye for now

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

What a night of rugby for Bath, a disappointingly long way home for Newcastle after a bruising effort.

Guess what? We'll do it all again tomorrow. Premiership action, the men's Six Nations... what more could you wish for?

    Until then, Goodnight.

  2. England women fail to clinch prize

    FT: France 17-12 England

France won the Women's Six Nations and denied England a Grand Slam with a hard-fought victory in a thrilling title decider in Vannes.

Gaelle Mignot scores France's first try just before half-time
  3. Some surprises from the stats

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Let's start with the penalty count eh? Both teams had players sent to the bin, Bath at one stage had two in there! They were pinged on that score - 15-7.

Bath made more metres with 369 to 297, which was a surprise given the dominance for Newcastle. They also made far more tackles, 122 to 83.

The visitors made more carries - 125 to 86 and won 10 turnovers to seven.

  4. Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards told BT Sport

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

"We're probably left 16-18 points ion the pitch, but we're getting there slowly, we need to nail these victories and these chances.

"We had a chat in the changing room, we said that we should have won this at a canter."

  5. Bath coach Mike Ford told BT Sport

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

"We defended 31 phases and it was amazing, a great effort not to give away a penalty, indiscipline put us in a position where we had two men in the sin-bin.

"We're pleased to get away with it, and to win with the confidence we're lacking - it'll be good to go in with a win on Monday."

  6. Take a breath...

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Wow. What a finish. Poor old Newcastle won't want sympathy but they deserved more than that bonus point. They dominated the breakdown and were excellent at the set-piece.

Credit though to Bath, there's big expectation in the west country but they've failed to match them so far this season. Could this be the springboard toward sealing elite European rugby this season?

  7. Glimmer of hope for the Exiles

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

It's a nine-point game now after that Falcons bonus point. Still a glimmer of hope for London Irish.

  8. Full-time

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Mike Delany goes for the hit but scuffs a low, damp-squib of a kick that fails to go through and somehow Bath hang onto the four points.

Falcons get a bonus point, that's scant consolation. Huge defensive effort from the hosts.

A thrilling end. Who says you need tries for excitement!

  9. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

26th phase! Delany kick charged down by Max Clark!

  10. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

21st phase! Mike Delany tackled as he lined up the drop!

    We're in the red!

  11. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Mike Delany is desperate for a chance to slot this drop goal. But Falcons are struggling to find him the position.

    In the last minute!

  12. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Falcons working the ball nicely. They've rucked so well. I can barely remember a time when Francois Louw the master poacher has got in there.

It's got rugby league pace to it at the moment. Falcons still in possession. 11 phases and counting.

    Two to go.

  13. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Mike Delany misses a drop goal attempt! Wow. Still Bath cling to the lead.

22 drop out. Almost three to go.

  14. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

There are some rutted sections of turf where these scrums have taken place tonight. Groundsman's nightmare.

Falcons work it into the loose but are a man down of course.

    Four to go.

  15. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Bath go early. Falcons get a free-kick. However we're brought back for another scrum.

Henry Thomas is back on from his sin-binning so Bath are back to a full complement.

    Five to go.

  16. Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Horacio Agulla loses the ball from a kick. Falcons scrum.

Will Welch is having to sacrifice himself to allow hooker George McGuigan on for the scrum.

Bath send on David Wilson as a prop with Matt Garvey trudging off.

Faffing at the set-piece and we're having another reset. Clock stopped though - this one will go to the end...

  17. Penalty (Homer)

    Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

Bang. After the reverential silence, Tom Homer strokes a penalty for three that restores the lead.

It's see-sawing wildly late on here. DRAMA AT THE REC.

  18. Sin-bin (Lawson)

    Bath 18-19 Newcastle Falcons

Scott Lawson's game is over as he heads for the bin. Tackle without the arms.

Bath get a chance now to strike for the lead again...

  19. Bath 18-19 Newcastle Falcons

Bath inside the 22, we're inside the last 10.

Rob Webber leads the charge, Horacio Agulla and Matt Banahan blast away down the right...

Eventually the ball is turned over by Chris Harris under the posts. But there's a problem for Newcastle in back-play...

  20. Penalty (Homer)

    Bath 18-19 Newcastle Falcons

    Tom Homer makes it a one-point ball-game.

Francois Louw returns after his sin-bin effort.

Belisario Agulla is on for Newcastle. Both brothers now operating for respective sides. ANOTHER penalty for Bath. Tom Homer might just have a crack from distance. No... it goes to touch.
