  1. Farewell for now

    FT: Castleford 19-18 Salford

So we've got our Challenge Cup semi-final line-up.

Hull FC v St Helens and Castleford v Warrington will take place on a sensational triple header on 5 June along with the Women's Challenge Cup final.

And with that, after a thriller at Headingley, we draw this frantic few days in the cup to a close.

    Thank you for joining us

  2. 'It doesn't have to be pretty'

    FT: Castleford 19-18 Salford

Castleford boss Daryl Powell told BBC Sport:

"It's another tight one. We had extra time against Hull KR in the last round and today we went down to 11 men and we didn't help ourselves.

"The conditions were always going to make it tough. We're not in the groove with our game at the moment.

"It doesn't have to be pretty. Warrington will be a great game."

  3. 'If I hadn't scored I would have been sacked'

    FT: Castleford 19-18 Salford

Castleford full-back Gareth O'Brien told BBC Sport:

"If I hadn't knocked that over I probably would have got sacked next week. I'd have been kicking myself and been very disappointed.

"I'm very happy to knock it over and send us through to the next round."

  4. 'Gareth stood up for us tonight'

    FT: Castleford 19-18 Salford

Castleford Tigers hooker Paul McShane told BBC Sport:

"We've been doing it tough in the cup at the minute. Credit to our lads we turn up for each other.

"It was gutting when they scored but it's credit to our resilience in extra time.

"It's something we've been working on and Gareth stood up for us tonight."

  5. DROP-GOAL AND FULL TIME

    Castleford 19-18 Salford

Gareth O'Brien, fresh from his return from the bin, kicks the winning drop-goal to send Castleford through!

Heartbreak for Salford who dominated that final 15 minutes and had been in the ascendancy going into golden point extra time.

Castleford will take on Warrington in the Challenge Cup semi-finals next month.

  6. Post update

    Castleford 18-18 Salford

A short break in play as Harvey Livett receives treatment for a bash to the ribcage but he's cleared to play on.

Salford are in possession within kicking range. Kevin Brown tries a drop-goal attempt but Paul McShane dives on the ball after blocking it.

  7. Kick-off

    Castleford 18-18 Salford

Salford finally made their player advantage count and force an extra spell to try and win this Challenge Cup tie.

Castleford's indiscipline has cost them in the final stages but can they make amends and see this tie off now?

  8. TRY: Castleford 18-18 Salford

    Lee Mossop, goal Harvey Livett

    WHAT A FINALE!

Lee Mossop under pressure from three Castleford players, grounds the ball upside down and over his head as he goes to ground.

It's sent to video ref Liam Moore who correctly gives the try! Drama!

Harvey Livett adds the two as the hooter sounds. We're going to golden point.

  9. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Gareth O'Brien is back but Castleford will still play the rest of this game with 12 players.

Salford win the ball back on the restart deep in Castleford's half and after the ball goes loose it's knocked on by the Red Devils and into touch by Ken Sio.

  10. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Lee Mossop goes over the line soon after Liam Watts is sent to the bin but he's held up.

Harvey Livett on his hat-trick gets the ball and works it wide but Castleford scramble and Salford are forced into a kick under the posts which Kevin Brown can't quite get onto before Paul McShane kicks it dead.

    My word!

  11. SIN-BIN

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Liam Watts is sent to the bin for that challenge on Elijah Taylor and Castleford are down to 11 players!

Salford surely have to make this advantage count now.

  12. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Closing stages of this game now and last season's finalists Salford are minutes away from exiting the competition at the quarter-final stage.

Salford break upfield and Elijah Taylor is clattered into by Liam Watts on halfway.

He receives treatment having come off worse from it. Deary me.

  13. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Time ticking down in this match and also for Salford to exploit their man advantage but they can't find a way through.

Castleford's defence are doing just enough to keep out the Red Devils so far.

  14. NO TRY

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Salford think they get the ball down through Kevin Brown who sneaks his way in at the goalline.

It goes upstairs as referee Ben Thaler says no try and video ref Liam Moore agrees.

For what it's worth, I don't agree. I think the replay shows Brown JUST got the ball down as he first gets to the line. He's definitely held up afterwards, but I think he did enough personally.

  15. SIN-BIN

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Gareth O'Brien goes to the bin for a professional foul in the build up to Salford driving their way to the line from Tui Lolohea's kick to goal.

That's a big blow for Castleford going into the final stages of this game but it's a huge opportunity for Salford.

  16. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Adam Milner knocks on as Castleford make another charge up field and that's a big win for Salford who get the ball back just behind halfway.

Question is, can they work something out of it? It would be a good time to get back on the board.

  17. Post update

    Castleford 18-12 Salford

Well will that try open the floodgates for a thrilling final quarter? Salford have their work cut out as Castleford look to have their tails up.

Gareth O'Brien goes for the 40-20 soon after the restart but it's not quite the right side of the line.

    A big finale awaits.

  18. TRY: Castleford 18-12 Salford

    Michael Shenton, goal Gareth O'Brien

    Video content

Video caption: Castleford take the lead thanks to Shenton's try

    There's the breakthrough!

Great work from Paul McShane to weave and duck and dive his way in to space before offloading to Michael Shenton who grounds the ball unopposed.

Gareth O'Brien kicks the two. Castleford lead for the first time in this game and arguably at the right time, going into the final 20 minutes.

  19. Post update

    Castleford 12-12 Salford

Kevin Brown looks to put another dangerous kick in to goal as Salford pressure Castleford.

However he can't quite thread the ball through before one of his teammates can run on to it.

  20. Post update

    Castleford 12-12 Salford

Three players it takes to bring down Pauli Pauli as Salford batter their way up field before Tui Lolohea loses the ball after passing the ball off into space.

Castleford win the ball back and a thrilling match continues.
