  1. Who are the teams?

    Both teams are traditional community clubs, with Wigan St Pats boasting the production countless professional players including current Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin, England rugby union captain Owen Farrell, all three of the Tomkins brothers, not forgetting legends of the game Mike Gregory and Joe Egan.

    The visitors West Hull made it through to the fifth round of the Challenge Cup in 1996, becoming the first amateur club to defeat professional opposition twice in the same year, beating Highfield in the third round followed by victory against York in the fourth.

  2. What is the Challenge Cup?

    The Challenge Cup is a knockout rugby league cup competition held annually since 1896, with the exception of 1915–1919 and 1939–1940. It involves amateur, semi-professional and professional clubs.

    The teams from the top tier of rugby league, known as the Super League, enter the Cup in the fifth and sixth rounds, with the final of the prestigious competition held at Wembley Stadium.

    The current holders of the Challenge Cup are Warrington Wolves who stunned St Helens to win the Challenge Cup for the ninth time.

    Wigan Warriors are the most successful club in the history of the competition, winning the cup a record 19 times.

  3. How can I watch?

    The match on Saturday, 25 January will kick off at 12:30 GMT and can be seen on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website.

    Skirlaugh's 8-6 win over Hunslet Club Parkside was the BBC's selected game in round one.

    League One clubs will enter in round three, with Super League clubs coming in during rounds five and six.
