Great Britain endure their third straight tour defeat with a 23-8 loss to New Zealand in the second Test at Christchurch.

We are back next Saturday for the final tour game against Papua New Guinea...unless they decide to show the Antiques Roadshow instead.

    Until then.

  2. 'Lads can be proud'

    New Zealand 23-8 GB Lions

Great Britain Lions skipper James Graham: "We made a few errors early doors and they completed well. We had our backs against the wall and if we played like we did in second half in the first we could have done better.

"The squad has been tested with injuries but no-one has complained. We were confident coming in and all of the lads can be proud."

FT: New Zealand 23-8 GB Lions

    Jon Wilkin

Ex-Great Britain forward on BBC Two

Their application in defence has been good but I don't think they've improved.

There have been challenges in personnel and there's a big question mark over the structure of the squad. That needs looking at, especially if you're going on tour. You need to get that right.

  4. 'It could be my last'

FT: New Zealand 23-8 GB Lions

New Zealand captain Benji Marshall: "So proud. We do not get enough games at home, the support from the Christchurch people and the players put in a lot of effort and we got the result.

"In the Australia game, our defence was not good enough but the leaders stood up today. Shaun Johnson's performance was enormous after missing out last week.

"When you wear this jumper, you know people are going to do their jobs. Is it special and there is a lot to look forward to.

Asked if he will play for NZ again: "I have not really thought about it, it could be my last."

Dan: Probably a good job we’re not playing the Aussies on this tour.

    New Zealand v GB Lions

All over, third straight defeat on tour for the Lions.

    The return has gone sour.

  7. PENALTY - New Zealand 23-8 GB Lions

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

    Another Jamayne Isaako conversion.

    Lions badly beaten.

  8. Post update

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

This has been the worst of the lot from the Lions.

Jackson Hastings intercepts a pass but from an offside position.

Penalty to the Kiwis in the final minute.

RichM: Waited all these years for Great Britain and this is the best we come up with. You can keep it, gone are the days of Peacock, Morley et al showing pride in the shirt. Bennett has to go, he just wants Aussies or NRL-based players in the team, is clueless.

Eric: Getting up early on a Saturday morning to watch this travesty is one thing, I feel very sorry for the people who paid thousands of pounds to travel from GB to be subjected to this disaster of a tour.

  10. Post update

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

    Three minutes remaining.

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

Oh my days, embarrassing stuff now from the tourists.

Finally Jackson Hastings gets a kick right, towards Blake Austin but the Warrington man cannot gather and it runs out of play.

There was no NZ player within a mile of him.

  12. Post update

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

Is Wayne Bennett the right man to lead Great Britain/England?

Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  13. Post update

    New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

    Brian Noble

Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC Two

A three-score game now and, with the way the Kiwis have defended, I don't think they're going to let this one go.

  14. DROP-GOAL - New Zealand 21-8 GB Lions

    Jamayne Isaako

    All over, come home lads.

Jamayne Isaako pops over the one-pointer to consign the Lions to another tour defeat.

    Three losses from three.

  15. Post update

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

    The Lions come again.

But look away folks, Daryl Clark fumbles it.

  16. Post update

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

Another Shaun Johnson bomb, well taken by Blake Austin coming in from the wing.

New Zealand's kicks just make the opposition think and work so much harder.

  17. NO TRY

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

    Won't count.

Jake Connor adjudged to have knocked on challenging for the ball in the air.

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

Last tackle, how's the kick? Gareth Widdop chips it to the left...

  19. Post update

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

Never looked like scoring from that set, to be honest.

Into the final 10 minutes, the Lions need three scores to keep their tour alive.

  20. Post update

    New Zealand 20-8 GB Lions

Very rigid from GB, catch and run, no creativity and in the end Gareth Widdop's grubber is poor.
