  3. Post update

    FT: Wigan 18-12 Salford

Wigan prop Tony Clubb tells BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra:

"It was such a tough game. Salford are such a good team. We just kept turning up in defence and it was a massive effort from our boys. That's what gets you to Grand Finals."

  4. Post update

    FT: Wigan 18-12 Salford

I think the last time I saw anything as brutal as that it was probably Lomachenko-Campbell, or the old Benn-Eubank fight on YouTube from 1990.

Imagine trying to get to sleep tonight. Broken.

  5. Post update

    FT: Wigan 18-12 Salford

Salford prop Gil Dudson tells BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra:

"We're massively disappointed. We just missed that cutting edge, we felt we were right there. We'll regroup. Finishing third, we get the second crack at it so we'll go again next week."

  6. Post update

    FT: Wigan 18-12 Salford

Wigan Warriors half-back George Williams tells BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra:

"What a tough old game. It was a great game for the neutrals but it was nail-biting at the end.

"Salford have come on leaps and bounds this year and they pushed us right to the end.

"It's pretty special (to be one win from the Grand Final). We'll see the best of St Helens, they've had a week's rest. We look forward to that one but we'll rest up first."

  7. Post update

    FT: Wigan 18-12 Salford

This game had so much. Brains, brawn, skill, tackles, hits, pace, power.

Wigan have to take on the runaway leaders on the back of a bruising encounter, the next few days will be patch up, repair and recovery.

Salford likewise, it'll be a case of nursing wounds, pride was not dented at all, just those bodies.

    Andrew Henderson

Warrington Wolves assistant coach on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

What a fantastic, outstanding game. Both teams played their part and the fans created a great atmosphere.

You don't get many moments in big games and Wigan took their opportunities when they had them. That's been the difference between the two teams.

    Wigan celebrate

Take a bow lads. What a ferocious, absorbing game.

    Absolutely phenomenal game.

Great defence from Wigan! That is "scramble on your goal line" at its best. The Cherry and Whites kept turning up for each other there.
