  1. Until next time...

Well, it's a series victory for Wayne Bennett's England side with a game to spare after a man-of-the-match performance from hat-trick hero Tommy Makinson.

Miss any of it? Here's Mantej Mann's report to bring you right up to date.

We'll be back for the final Test at Elland Road next week, when England will look to finish off their series win in style.

    Until then...

  2. 'England developing winning habit'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Jon Wilkin

Former England forward on BBC Two

This England team is now developing a habit of winning games. This is the skill of Wayne Bennett. He is very causal and chilled, he goes and sits on the back of the bus with them, it allows them to relax.

That said, he's got a great bunch. The limits for this team are yet to be found.

  3. 'Players have belief'

    Brian Noble

Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC Two

We have some outstanding players who can complete against the best in the world and with the belief they have we can now see it out on the pitch.

  4. 'Our mentality has changed'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

England's John Bateman tells the BBC: "It's a good result for us. Over the last 12 months we've come on in leaps and bounds and I think we can keep on going.

"The mentality has changed. In the past we were written off when compared to Australia and New Zealand but Wayne Bennett has given us confidence and now we go out and really believe in ourselves.

"It'll be fantastic to achieve a whitewash over New Zealand and that's what we'll try to do next week."

  5. 'The effort was phenomenal'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

England's Josh Hodgson: "There was relief at the end because of the hard work we've put into these matches. They have been really physical and the Kiwis came out all guns blazing today.

"In the first half we were a little bit patchy but the effort was phenomenal and that's what kept it at 6-6.

"In the second half we put our sets together better and our work ethic was outstanding."

Right, let's have a look back at some of the tries at Anfield.

    Here's Dallin Watene-Zelezniak's early opener...

  11. 'Some harsh lessons learned'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

New Zealand head coach Michael Maguire: "International footy brings that, the best of each country playing against each other. We've got a group in there hurting. Some harsh lessons learned, that's for sure.

"Playing a Test match, each set is so critical. It's tough for the players. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve because the way they have applied themselves has been exceptional.

"England were just too good for us in that regard, especially in last two Tests - something this group has to learn.

"England have been performing very well and are obviously a team who have been together for a while. They understand each set is so crucial. As a New Zealand team we need to apply that and take some harsh lessons. It hurts at the moment. We need to keep working hard."

  12. 'We'll enjoy this moment'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

More from England boss Wayne Bennett: "Tommy Makinson was unbelievable. He was last week too. Today he was just in a league of his own.

"They (England) can be as good as they want to be. The more they believe the better they will be. A great group of guys and I am pleased they are getting their rewards.

"You have to enjoy the moments. We will enjoy it for a day or two and then worry about next week."

  13. Post update

So will England turn their attention immediately to preparing for the - whisper it, dead-rubber - final Test next week?

Wayne Bennett says he'll let his players enjoy the moment first...

  14. 'We have a very talented squad'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

England coach Wayne Bennett on the BBC Red Button: "I have always been proud of them since I took the job - today they delivered it at another standard.

"We started last year in the World Cup in Australia and built on that. These games will give us confidence in the way they are won."

On England's depth amid losing a number of high-profile players to injury: "It's really amazed me, we had nine players out from last year's World Cup.

"So when I arrived late in the season realising we were going to lose quite a few players I was quite apprehensive about what we had available. Guys have been given an opportunity and now we have a very talented squad with a lot of depth going forward."

  15. 'Makinson defence won game'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Robbie Hunter-Paul

Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

We talk about the hat-trick, but Tommy Makinson won the game with two big defensive tackles - stopping Kevin Proctor and stopping Jordan Rapana score those tries. I have been watching Rapana score those tries in the NRL, which we perceive to be the best in the world, for the last three years. Easy. But not against Tommy Makinson.

  16. 'Lomax execution changed game'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Jon Wilkin

Former England forward on BBC Two

I can hand on heart say that three of the best performers in an England shirt were Jonny Lomax in the second half, Luke Thompson and Tommy Makinson.

Lomax, just little bits of execution that changed the game.

  17. 'England's pack special'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Brian Noble

Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC Two

This England pack are as good as any in the world. They are special. They are so difficult to stop.

  18. 'Makinson best in Super League'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Jon Wilkin

Former England forward on BBC Two

Tommy Makinson has been the best winger in Super League all year. He carries the ball as strong as anybody and his workrate is fantastic.

  19. 'England executed really well'

    England 20-14 New Zealand

    Brian Noble

Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC Two

England played pressure football and then executed really well.

They showed composure and a fair amount of skill. We'll probably reflect on the naivety of the New Zealand team in the way they were out-gunned in the second half.
