The two teams shake hands at Sophia Gardens with Glamorgan just 20 runs short of clearing the first-innings deficit, with eight wickets standing.

They remain unbeaten, and second in the Division Two table, one point clear of Sussex and 19 behind leaders Lancashire.

Nick Selman is 70 not out at the finish, with David Lloyd on eight, after Billy Godleman made 227 earlier in the day, the highest score by a Derbyshire batsman against Glamorgan.

The visitors, who are fourth, take 13 points from the game and Glamorgan 10.

  4. BreakingSUSSEX DRAW WITH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 444-6 dec

Ryan Higgins ends on 119 not out after an unbroken partnership of 85 with Graeme van Buuren (37*).

Earlier, Gareth Roderick scored 158 for the visitors to help them achieve four batting points.

Both sides take 10 from the game, and are both away from home next week - Sussex at Worcester, and Gloucestsrshire at Leicester.

  5. WICKET Labuschagne st Hosein b Hughes 83

    Glamorgan 394 & 173-2 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

Marnus Labuschagne misses out on what would have been his fourth century in a very productive first season in county cricket after hitting a six and 11 fours in his 90-ball knock.

Smart work by keeper Harvey Hosein, who takes the ball outside leg-stump and breaks the wicket before Labuschagne can recover his ground.

New batsman David Lloyd is immediately off the mark with a single and Glamorgan are now just 31 behind. Nick Selman is still there on 70 not out.

  6. for Ryan Higgins

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 418-6

    Ryan Higgins

Laurie Evans comes on to bowl for Sussex and Ryan Higgins cuts away his first delivery for four to reach a 130-ball hundred. It's his third in first-class cricket, and included two sixes and nine fours.

  7. Labuschagne overtakes Selman

    Glamorgan 394 & 163-1 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

    Marnus Labuschagne

No let-up from Marnus Labuschagne and Nick Selman at Swansea.

Labuschagne has 76 off 82 balls, and Selman is 68 not out. They have added 133 in 26 overs so far.

The deficit is now just 41 runs.

  8. Higgins closes on ton

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 405-6

Gloucestershire's total mounts beyond 400. Too late to secure a fifth batting point, but Ryan Higgins is now just seven runs short of what would be a third first-class century. He has just played out a maiden from Abidine Sakande. Graeme van Buuren is 24 not out at the other end.

  9. Glamorgan pair in century stand

    Glamorgan 394 & 134-1 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

Nick Selman and Marnus Labuschagne are intent on enjoying themselves in whatever time is left before this game comes to an end.

Selman has 61 off 69 balls and his Australian partner 55 off 55, and together they have added 105 in 18 overs since the dismissal of Charlie Hemphrey before tea.

Here's how Labuschagne went to his fifty.

  10. Tea at Arundel

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 385-6 dec

    Adrian Harms

    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

This game is heading for a draw although Gareth Roderick and Ryan Higgins ensured that Gloucestershire secured a fourth batting bonus point with an entertaining stand of 136.

Roderick’s 158 was his first century of the season and was an innings full of attractive shots around the wicket, whilst Higgins reached tea on 85

Ollie Robinson has again looked the pick of the Sussex bowlers, picking up three wickets so far in the innings.

  11. Tea at Swansea

    Glamorgan 394 & 74-1 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

    Nick Webb

    BBC Wales Sport

Glamorgan reached tea with only one wicket down after Derbyshire gave themselves 58 overs to try and bowl the home side out.

Charlie Hemphrey gave the visitors early hope when leaving a ball from Ravi Rampaul which nipped back slightly and hit off stump, but Nick Selman (42*) and Marnus Labuschagne (13*) survived until the interval without further alarms.

Forty one overs remain in the final session, but they could shake hands earlier unless Derbyshire can exert more pressure.

Earlier, Billy Godleman took his career-best to 227, the county’s highest ever score against Glamorgan, and Harvey Hosein hit 91 not out in Derbyshire’s 598-5 declared.

Bizarrely, Glamorgan bowler Lukas Carey suffered a minor arm injury as he collided with Godleman while appealing successfully for leg-before and knocking the batsman’s helmet off in the process.

  12. WICKET Roderick c Brown b Robinson 158

    Sussex 351-8 v Gloucestershire 359-6

Gareth Roderick tries to deflect a slower ball from Ollie Robinson in the direction of third man, but only succeeds in edging to the keeper.

It's Robinson's third wicket and ends a 324-minute innings, during which Roderick faced 246 balls and hit a six and 15 fours. Graeme van Buuren is the new batsman.

  13. Higgins clears the rope

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 350-5

Ryan Higgins hits Luke Wells over mid-wicket for six and a single from the next delivery takes the total to 350. Four batting points in the bag for Gloucestershire - five overs left to try and add a fifth. Oh yes, and they'll soon have a first-innings lead.

  14. for Gareth Roderick

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 335-5

Gloucestershire certainly not hanging about now at Arundel.

Ryan Higgins reaches a 57-ball half-century with a boundary off Will Beer and Gareth Roderick goes to 150 in the spinner's next over by dabbing him away for a single.

The visitors need another 15 for the fourth batting point.

  15. Roderick presses on

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 304-5

Gareth Roderick smacks left-arm spinner Danny Briggs over long-on for six to secure Gloucestershire's third batting point. He ends the over with a boundary to progress to 139 not out and they have 12 more overs to try and add 41 for a fourth point or, if they are really ambitious, 91 for all five.

  16. WICKET Hemphrey b Rampaul 19

    Glamorgan 394 & 30-1 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

Charlie Hemphrey offers no stroke to a good length delivery from Derbyshire's Ravi Rampaul. It's a fatal error as the ball goes on to hit off stump. Glamorgan still 174 in arrears.

  17. for Gareth Roderick

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestershire 251-5

    Gareth Roderick

Doing it in style. Gareth Roderick reaches his first Championship century of the season off 189 balls by driving Chris Jordan straight for four - the 11th of his innings.

He finds the boundary again two balls later, but this one is edged past the slips, taking the Gloucestershire total past 250 and earning them a second batting point.

  18. Derbyshire declare

    Glamorgan 394 v Derbyshire 598-5 dec

Derbyshire call a halt to their first innings with a lead of 204 after an unbroken stand of 69 in 9.5 overs between Harvey Hosein and Matt Critchley.

Hosein finishes with an unbeaten 91, with Critchley making 34 not out off only 33 balls, after coming together when Billy Godleman was finally out for 227.

Glamorgan have yet to lose this season, but they face an awkward 58-over test now as they look to bat out the day and earn a draw.

  19. Roderick nears century

    Sussex 351-8 dec v Gloucestsrshire 207-4

    Adrian Harms

    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

After the rain earlier in the week the sun is finally out at Arundel.

The game is heading for a draw, but there are still bonus points up for grabs, which is keeping the match interesting

Gareth Roderick was six short of his century at lunch and during this innings has passed 4,000 first-class runs for Gloucestershire

Ollie Robinson comprehensively bowled Jack Taylor with the last ball before lunch, leaving just one stump remaining, Will Beer picked up the other wicket, his leg-spin accounting for Benny Howell

  20. WICKET Godleman lbw Carey 227

    Glamorgan 394 v Derbyshire 529-5

Derbyshire skipper Billy Godleman's magnificent innings comes to an end at Swansea. He batted for eight hours and seven minutes, faced 327 deliveries and struck 25 fours - and his fifth-wicket stand with Harvey Hosein added 135.

The 'afters' were quite interesting too. See below.
