  1. Champagne on ice for Blues

Linfield edge closer to 55th title

The champagne is on ice for Linfield as they close in on a 55th Premiership title.

David Healy's men did their own jobs as they beat Crusaders 3-1 - then learned that nearest challengers Glentoran and Coleraine had battled out a 1-1 draw.

That means the Blues can clinch the Gibson Cup in their next game at home to Larne - although that will have to wait for a week-and-a-half as the Irish Cup takes centre stage in the coming days.

Elsewhere this evening, Larne won 2-1 at Cliftonville, while Glenavon remain on course to reach the European play-offs after thrashing mid-Ulster rivals Portadown 4-1.

Ballymena United, Glenavon's main challengers for that play-off place, also scored four at Carrick Rangers, while an injury time goal gave Warrenpoint Town a 1-0 win at Dungannon Swifts.

As mentioned earlier, the Irish Cup takes top billing this Saturday with eight ties down for decision, including live stream coverage of the Glentoran v Cliftonville encounter.

Join us then, Bye for now.

    Glenavon 4-1 Portadown

A dominant performance in the mid-Ulster derby keeps Glenavon firmly on course for finishing seventh and reaching the European play-offs.

    Glentoran 1-1 Coleraine

Stephen Lowry would have the final say but this is how Rory Donnelly broke the deadlock at the Oval.

  9. GOAL

    Dungannon Swifts 0-1 Warrenpoint Town

Brandon Doyle puts Warrenpoint ahead in injury time!

The visitors were awarded a penalty after substitute referee Steven Gregg adjudged that Cahal McGinty had brought down Ryan Swan.

Doyle's spot kick was saved by Roy Carroll but when the ball was played back into the penalty area, Doyle was on hand to force home from close range!

  10. No ordinary Joe....

    Carrick Rangers 0-4 Ballymena Utd

Watch substitute Joe McCready score Ballymena's fourth against Carrick.

    Linfield 3-1 Crusaders

A third straight title is just one win away for the Blues after beating the Crues at Windsor Park.

Mark Stafford, Shayne Lavery and Joel Cooper were on target for the champions, who were pushed hard by the north Belfast visitors.

The draw between Glentoran and Coleraine means David Healy's side are eight points clear with three matches remaining.

    Cliftonville 1-2 Larne

Larne claim another big win in north Belfast as they follow up Saturday's win at Crusaders with a 2-1 victory over Cliftonville at Solitude.

David McDaid's two penalties, either side of Barry Coffey's free-kick, proves enough to give Tiernan Lynch's side all three points.

  13. GOAL

    Glentoran 1-1 Coleraine

Coleraine are level with two minutes to play!

Glentoran only half clear a long throw into the area and the ball eventually falls to Stephen Lowry, whose powerful effort from the edge of the area deflects off Paddy McClean and nestles in the Glentoran net.

    Glentoran 1-0 Coleraine

I'm not saying Dale Gorman has provided an impact off the bench but he's popped up with an assist, forced Martin Gallagher into a strong save and now he's just rattled the crossbar with a thunderous free-kick from 25 yards.

You get the feeling he isn't too impressed with missing out on the starting team this evening.

    Cliftonville 1-2 Larne

Cliftonville have three minutes to rescue a point.

  16. Shay shoots...and scores

    Carrick Rangers 0-4 Ballymena Utd

Pick that one out! Shay McCartan cuts inside and rifles a low shot into the bottom corner.

Another in a long line of cracking finishes from the ex-Bradford City player this season.

  17. GOAL

    Linfield 3-1 Crusaders

The leaders now firmly on course for another three points as Joel Cooper adds a third with six minutes left.

Cameron Palmer's cross is turned into the net by the winger from close range - the title is getting ever closer!

    Carrick Rangers 0-4 Ballymena Utd

In the end Ballymena run out comfortable winners and keep up their pursuit of Glenavon in that race for seventh spot in the league and a shot at European qualification.

Trai Hume opened the scoring, then Shay McCartan scored two, the first from the penalty spot, the next an exquisite low drive into the corner.

Joe McCready got in on the act with his late goal.

  19. Lavery restores lead for hosts

    Linfield 2-1 Crusaders

  20. GOAL

    Carrick Rangers 0-4 Ballymena Utd

Substitute Joe McCready gets his name on the scoresheet four minutes into added time as he rifles a drive past Aaron Hogg.

McCready's third of the season and fourth for the club.
