  1. Goodbye

    FT: Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

    Blackburn celebrate

That is it for tonight. One for the purists across both matches, you'd say.

The relentless nature for the Championship and the rest of the EFL continues in midweek with earnest. Tuesday and Wednesday action to whet the appetite.

We'll be here. Don't you worry about that. See you then.

I'm off to see if there are Yorkshires left. Have a great evening.

  2. How is the table looking?

    FT: Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

    Championship table

Blackburn's win keeps them in the mix, they climb to ninth. Boro stay seventh.

Reading's draw with Preston earlier sees no change to the Royals' position - but it's a missed opportunity for Veljko Paunovic's side.

  3. Post update

    FT: Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

    Tony Mowbray

It's only the second win in seven Championship games for Blackburn, and a priceless one if they are to maintain any kind of promotion challenge this season.

For Boro, it's their second home defeat in a row, and by quirk of fate, both inflicted by sides coached by former Boro bosses.

Aitor Karanka and Birmingham last weekend, and Mogga and Rovers this.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

    Blackburn celebrate

It's a happy return to his boyhood club for Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray as Rovers beat the Teessiders thanks to a goal by Joe Rothwell.

Boro felt they should have had a penalty after a high-boot from defender Jarrad Branthwaite left Dael Fry with a facial wound and forced to go off,

Not a happy Neil Warnock, and he had plenty to say to Branthwaite and the officials afterwards.

  5. Post update

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Credit to Blackburn for trying to up the excitement in this six minutes of injury time with some really shoddy clearances.

Boro can't take advantage, and Rovers' Timotei-advert midfield cope with the danger again.

  6. Post update

Ashley Fletcher soars to meet a Jonny Howson ball in for Boro, but can't guide his header on target and it's behind for a Rovers goal-kick.

    Rovers keeping Boro at bay.

  7. Post update

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Blackburn hook the ball away after tidy Boro build-up down the left through Patrick Roberts and Ashley Fletcher.

Rovers contingent of midfielders with dark flowing locks and beards seem to get to every ball. Hard to tell them all apart.

Boro get the ball into the box again, Bradley Dack shanks a clearance but eventually the ball is swatted away.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

    It ain't over yet, folks...

  9. Post update

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Blackburn get Ben Brereton in behind, but his cut back to Adam Armstrong forces the striker to reshuffle his position and the moment is lost.

Lewis Travis keeps it in the corner, and wins a throw. Just chewing down the clock.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Marc Bola's turn to go 'agricultural' with a late, skidding challenge on Bradley Dack that earns him a booking.

Time running out for Boro and Rovers look comfortable on the ball.

  11. Post update

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Patrick Roberts has Lewis Travis on toast with some footwork, and the Rovers man crudely halts his progress with a tackle.

The resulting free-kick is well marshalled by the Rovers defence. Boro can't crack the nut yet.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Jacob Davenport takes a sore one in winning a 50-50 and German midfield Tom Trybull comes on for Rovers.

  13. Post update

Middlesbrough struggling to find a yard in midfield, as Rovers swamp the home side's attack.

Here they go, Marc Bola got down the left but Rovers pick off and counter.

Sweeping move slides in Sam Gallagher and his cross to Adam Armstrong is walloped over the bar as he curls to the far stick.

    Jacob Davenport is injured.

  14. Post update

Ben Brereton skies a Bradley Dack corner over the bar for Rovers, after a wickedly swinging corner.

    Not his best.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Marcus Tavernier does go off, and Patrick Roberts is on. Still limping.

    Marcus Tavernier

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Sore looking moment for Marcus Tavernier, who loses his footing while trying to draw in a pass from Ashley Fletcher.

He stretches his leg out and it's a really sore looking incident. He grabs the ball to stop Barry Douglas from getting away.

Could be a very painful one, as he's guaranteed a booking as well as being potentially withdrawn through injury.

  17. Post update

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Marc Bola has to be quick to lose down Bradley Dack in the Boro box, connecting to Sam Gallagher's flick-on from a long Thomas Kaminski punt.

Different threat to Adam Armstrong's buzzing, lively style, more physical and direct.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn

Marcus Bettinelli with a great block as Adam Armstrong is released one-on-one.

Nathan Wood dawdling out of position lost it, and Rovers countered sharply.

  19. Post update
