  1. Post update

Goals, goals and more goals. Four games - 16 goals. The Premier League delivered again and the good news is there's plenty more tomorrow.

    See you then!

    Harry Maguire
    Sergio Aguero
    Jannik Vestergaard
Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Pickford
  2. 'Man Utd will do that to teams'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce: "They will not have enjoyed what happened last week.

"We found it very difficult, there's no disputing that. They will do that to teams. If you leave them space they have lightning pace at the top of the pitch.

"It's a work in progress for us, we will have bumps along the road but we will keep working at it."

  3. ''Harry wanted to play'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talking to BBC Sport: "The boys showed a great resilience. They were patient and we controlled and dominated the game and in the end it counted.

"Harry is a character, he has great resilience and wants to play. There is no hiding place and if you go away you prolong the criticism, He wanted to play and even though he wasn't 100 per cent fit, he played well. He is a very well liked lad.

"When we play with intensity and speed we are a good team."

  4. 'We were a bit naive'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, speaking to MOTD: "They were a handful all night, some of their forward players and their movement we found it difficult. But you stay in it, they scored from a free kick we had and broke away and then towards the end we were a bit naive.

"Karl Darlow has been fantastic. He was brave when we needed him to be. You know your goalkeeper will have to play well against the big teams, I hope he will be OK next week [after picking up a knock].

"I thought we were a little bit too easy at times to play against. We will go away really, really disappointed because we were 10 minutes away and it could have gone either way when it gets that late.

"It is work in progress for us. We have tried to change and with that it will take time. The defeat looks worse than it really was."

  5. 'The right reply to 6-1 defeat'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United goalscorer Bruno Fernandes: "We played well, did a really good game, created chances and I missed a penalty, so the result is fair.

"Today was about winning and not the performance, but we got both together today.

On his penalty: "I want to put the ball more in the corner but it was not good enough. Congratulations to him to be first to save a penalty in the Premier League from me. That's 11 taken and one missed. Now people can say I can miss a penalty."

On the result: "The motivation was for winning. Of course, I was frustrated to miss a penalty but we had a great reaction afterwards.

"The last goal for Rash was deserved because he did a really good game today, but this win is for the whole team.

"It's always important to win. To have criticism is normal in football. This is a big club, we have big pressure, but we are big players. We are OK for that. The team is together. Today is a right way to reply to the 6-1 against Tottenham."

  6. Watch MOTD now

Match of the Day has just started on BBC One and you can also watch online here.

Lots of goals and no 0-0 draws once again. Another entertaining day in the Premier League.

  7. 'Great character shown, led by inspirational captain'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to Sky Sports: "Great result and great character to come back, led by a very inspirational captain.

"The boys came together really well. The are looking forward to every game. Today I rested a few and they have come on and done the business for us."

On not starting Paul Pogba: "Paul had hip and back problems when he was away with France, so it wasn't right to start him.

"We have got big games coming up. Everyone has to perform when they come on. I am delighted for him."

On captain Harry Maguire: "Harry scored and leads by example. He showed good character, I am happy for him. He had a couple of difficult weeks since he last played for us.

"The season started for us today. We have come up to the speed of the game and that showed today."

  8. Post-match stats

    • Newcastle United conceded four goals at home in the Premier League for the first time since April 5th 2014, also against Manchester United (0-4).
    • Manchester United enjoyed their 10th comeback win against Newcastle in the Premier League, the most by any side against a single opponent in the competition.
    • Newcastle United are without a clean sheet in seven Premier League home games, their longest such run without a shut-out on home soil since February 2014 (8).
    • Manchester United have been awarded 17 penalties in the Premier League since the start of last season, five more than any other side in the competition (12 scored).
  9. 'A fantastic game for us'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, speaking to MOTD: "We played really well today. The game was fantastic for us. Newcastle have a really good team, they play well and have good players but I think we deserved the win today.

"H [Harry Maguire] is a big man. He is playing for the national team and Manchester United. It is of course difficult for every player being under fire but he did what he had to do on the pitch. He scored. We can push him and he can push us."

On changing his technique for the penalty: "I already change sometimes. Today it doesn't work. I need to do what is better for the game, today was not the right choice but doesn't matter, miss the penalty I have to keep improving in the next games."

  10. 'A big performance tonight when needed'

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, speaking to Sky Sports: "I wouldn't say we have answered them [the critics]. It's funny, three games into the season and it seems like a big crisis. Won two lost two. There is a long way to go, we have to improve.

"When you play for this club and get beat at home, we ask questions. We work hard in training, it is a great group and we knew we had to bounce back. I felt it would have been really harsh if we came away with just a point. A full deserved win.

"It was important. Every game in the Premier League we want to be on top. Some games we will not be at our best but we have to do the basics well and in the games we lost we didn't do the basics well.

"We knew we needed to get three points and we managed to do so. We've got a tough run coming up.

"We are still a young team but we won't use that as an excuse. It was disappointing to start like we had but big performance tonight when we needed it."

  11. Subs key for Man Utd?

    Newcastle 1-4 Man Utd

A good point made by Francesa a few entries down. How big an impact did the Manchester United substitutes have?

Without Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek on the pitch it was 1-1, after both were on the pitch it finished 4-1.

SMS Message: Delighted for Harry Maguire, but let's not paper over the cracks. United should be putting teams like Newcastle to the sword sooner than the 87th minute. Van de Beek looms sharp and deserving of more game time than he's getting. from Robbie, Glasgow
