  1. 'Alfredo needs to keep doing what he is doing'

    HT: Rangers 2-0 Hearts

Alfredo Morelos scored with two top drawer headers to earn Rangers a Europa League draw away to Feyenoord on Thursday and the Colombian striker was at it again after 11 minutes today, powering in a deep cross from Borna Barisic.

"You can't get him off the training ground and he hates getting rested, hates coming off the pitch and that gives me confidence that he will continue to be a top player for many years," said manager Steven Gerrard on Friday.

"If you love the game the way he does it wouldn't surprise me if he goes on to become a regular for Colombia, continues to get international goals and scores many goals here or wherever else he goes. "Alfredo needs to keep doing what he is doing."

  2. HALF-TIME Rangers 2-0 Hearts

Rangers are on course to join league leaders Celtic on 37 points, with the first-half goals coming from Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

    Rangers 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Can Hearts respond? They held Rangers to a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle in October but have not posed any threat so far this afternoon.

Remember, the Edinburgh side are on the same points as bottom side St Johnstone, with just one win in their past seven league outings.

  15. 'Upset unlikely' at Ibrox

    Rangers 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

    Charlie Christie

Former Inverness CT player & manager on Sportsound

Quote Message: Hearts are capable, but you wouldn't expect an upset at Ibrox considering the way they and going and what's going on behind the scenes - and the way Rangers are going domestically and in Europe
  16. KICK-OFF

    Rangers 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

We are up and running in sunny Govan...

  17. Not long now...

Rangers v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

The morning fog has rolled away and it's a gloriously bright afternoon in Glasgow now, without a breath of wind.

We're just moments away from kick off at Ibrox.

  18. We believe - MacPhee

Rangers v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

Hearts caretaker Austin MacPhee insists his players arrive at Ibrox believing they can create an upset similar to their famous 4-0 win over Brendan Rodgers' Celtic in December 2017.

“Every player in the changing room has played in a game that they weren’t meant to win," he said.

“I spoke to them about when Celtic were 69 games unbeaten, it had been snowing here, we hadn’t trained properly for three days and we had loads of injuries.

    Austin MacPhee

“You need to be organised and you need to be on the same page going into the game. We know that these things happen in football and we need to make sure that we give ourselves the best chance of this happening.

“Naturally, just now, Rangers are showing that they can certainly compete in the Europa League in the group stages and we realise the magnitude of the task in addition to the fact that with the competition between Rangers and Celtic every point is a prisoner just now.

“We’ll need to be at our best, we’ll need to be clear, we’ll need to take advantage of the individual moments in the game, but I’m convinced that the players will believe that they can do that when they come out of the tunnel."

  19. Gerrard wary of Hearts

Rangers v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

It is the start of a busy period for Rangers, who visit Aberdeen on Wednesday before facing Celtic in the League Cup at Hampden Park a week today before a decisive Europa League group game. Then there is a hugely important league derby with their city rivals at the end of December.

But manager Steven Gerrard insists all his concentration is on Hearts today.

"I am aware there is a cup final next week and there is a make-or-break game against Young Boys and we have to go to Celtic Park, all fantastic fixtures and I get it," he said. "I see it as an exciting challenge, one that we need to embrace and look forward to.

"But for me, the focus is on Hearts. Hearts took two points away from us not so long ago, so I think it would be very silly if we forget about the challenge that is in front of us."

  20. Little sign of Hearts revival

    Rangers v Hearts (15:00)

Any thoughts that Hearts had turned the corner under caretaker Austin MacPhee with their 5-2 thumping of St Mirren were dispelled by last week's limp 3-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock.

It means the Edinburgh side have won once in eight outings since defeating Aberdeen on penalties in the League Cup quarter-final in September.
