  1. Seventh sweet success sends Leeds to summit

    Leeds

Just about the perfect day for Leeds United.

They recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Hull City to stretch their winning run to seven and go top of the Championship.

Just as importantly the teams in third and fourth, Bristol City and Fulham, both lost so they now have an 11-point lead on the chasing pack.

At the bottom of ther table Stoke registered a 3-0 home win over fellow strugglers Luton and Huddersfield grabbed a late winner at Charlton.

In the FA Cup there were wins for Coventry, Crewe and Carlisle. In the other tie, National League Hartlepool lead League Two Exeter 1-0 in extra-time.

Thanks for your company this evening and we'll be back with more EFL action at 19:15 GMT on Wednesday.

  2. Big wins for Potters & Terriers

FT: Stoke 3-0 Luton; Charlton 0-1 Huddersfield

It's tight at the bottom of the Championship...

    Championship bottom six
  3. FULL-TIME

    Stoke 3-0 Luton

A cruise for Stoke, who move to within three points of safety.

Two goals for Joe Allen and one for James McClean are enough for them on a night when Luton offered very little.

The Hatters are now just three points clear of the relegation zone.

  4. FULL-TIME

    Charlton 0-1 Huddersfield

Timing is everything and it looks like Huddersfield youngster Matty Daly knows that.

His late intervention at The Valley wins his side all three points to move them four points clear of the relegation zone.

  5. GOAL: Charlton 0-1 Huddersfield

    Matty Daly (90+2mins)

What time to grab your first professional goal!

Teenager Matty Daly gives Huddersfield a late, late lead at The Valley.

The Terriers are going four clear of the bottom three.

  6. Leeds go top

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Hull

    Drink it in Leeds fans...

    Championship top six
  7. FULL-TIME

    Preston 2-1 Fulham

Preston hold out for a win that ends their run of four successive defeats and moves them back into the top six.

Goals from Sean Maguire and David Nugent are enough despite Aleksandar Mitrovic's late effort.

Fulham slip to 10 points behind the top two.

    David Nugent
  8. GOAL: Hartlepool 1-0 Exeter

    Josh Hawkes (93 mins)

Well, well, well. Are we in for an FA Cup upset?

Gime Toure plays in Josh Hawkes and the non-league side's number 11 floats it over the keeper into the net.

They lead in extra-time and I'd say they probably deserve it.

  9. Post update

    Preston 2-1 Fulham

The visitors win a free-kick about 30 yards from Preston's goal.

Aleksandar Mitrovic goes for goal but he hits the wall and goalkeeper Declan Rudd is able to bring it in.

  10. Post update

    Preston 2-1 Fulham

Into six minutes of time added on at Deepdale.

    Can Fulham find an equaliser?

  11. FULL-TIME

    Nottingham Forest 1-1 Middlesbrough

The points are shared at the City Ground.

Forest will feel hard done by after dominating for long periods, but Paddy McNair's late penalty rescued a draw for Boro.

  12. FULL-TIME

    Leeds 2-0 Hull

    Leeds celebrate

A Jordy de Wijs own goal and Ezgjan Alioski send Leeds top of the Championship.

It's seven successive wins for the Whites now and, as it stands, they are 11 points clear of the chasing pack.

  13. FA Cup Full-Time Headlines

    • National League Hartlepool are going to extra-time after holding League Two Exeter to a goalless opening 90 minutes.
    • But, non-league Eastleigh bow out of the cup losing 3-1 to Crewe Alexandra despite a late consolation goal from Marcus Barnes.
    • Coventry held on despite a late Ipswich fight-back to win 2-1, while strugglers Carlisle beat fellow League Two side and promotion-chasing Forest Green 1-0.

  14. FULL-TIME

    Bristol City 1-2 Millwall

Yep, Millwall hold on and earn a fine win at Ashton Gate.

Goals in either half from Jed Wallace and Jake Cooper earned the Lions three points.

Callum O'Dowda's late strike wasn't enough to rescue anything for the hosts.

    Josh Brownhill
  15. Post update

    Bristol City 1-2 Millwall

City substitute Pedro Pereira strikes low from an angle but Bartosz Bialkowski turns the ball away with his foot.

Was that Bristol City's last chance?

  16. Post update

    Leeds 2-0 Hull

Looks like Leeds are comfortably seeing this out for a seventh successive win that will send them top and, as it stands, 11 points clear of the chasers.

  17. Post update

    Bristol City 1-2 Millwall

They're into five minutes of added time at Ashton Gate and the hosts are throwing everyone forward in search of an equaliser.

    Can Millwall hold on?

  18. GOAL: Preston 2-1 Fulham

    Aleksandar Mitrovic (81 mins)

    Hope for Fulham!

You can't say they don't deserve it, though there is an element of luck.

Aleksandar Mitrovic doesn't strike his effort from 20 yards all that cleanly but with the aid of a deflection it beats home goalkeeper Declan Rudd.

  19. Post update

    Preston 2-0 Fulham

The visitors come forward again and this time Aleksandar Mitrovic pokes an effort wide after coming in off the right.

Both team are down to 10 men in this one after Fulham's Denis Odoi and Preston's Joe Rafferty saw red in the first half.

  20. FA Cup second-round replays update

Not long to go now in our FA Cup games - but hope for Ipswich as Luke Garbutt gets a goal back against Coventry. It's now 2-1 to the Sky Blues at Portman Road.

It's still goalless but non-league Hartlepool have gone very, very close again.

Ryan Donaldson's shot is somehow kept out by Exeter keeper Jon Maxted.

At this rate, it looks like the League Two club are playing for penalties.

Meanwhile, Forest Green's Aaron Collins has just smashed the crossbar as his side are still searching for an equaliser against Carlisle.
