  1. Goodnight

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

It's been another busy Saturday across Europe's top leagues.

Real Madrid had occupied first place in La Liga after beating Eibar 4-0 this afternoon, while Bayern Munich also recorded a thumping 4-0 win over title rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

You can read reports from all today's games over on our European football page.

That's all from me today, thanks for joining us!

  2. Barca reclaim top spot

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

Lionel Messi's hat-trick, including two wonderful free-kicks, takes Barcelona up to first in the table.

Atletico Madrid host Espanyol tomorrow afternoon, while Sevilla travel to face Real Betis in the evening.

    La Liga table

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

    All over!

A rather satisfying result in the end for Barcelona, despite Celta Vigo's positive start.

  4. Post update

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

Two minutes to be added on!

  5. Post update

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

    Good save!

The set-piece is slightly to the right of Marc-Andre ter-Stegen's goal and the Barca goalkeeper does well to keep the ball from sneaking into the bottom corner.

There's to be no dramatic late fightback from Celta.

  6. Post update

    Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

Sergio Busquets goes into the book for tripping Brais Mendez on the edge of the box.

Another shooting opportunity from a free-kick for Celta Vigo...

  7. GOAL - Barcelona 4-1 Celta Vigo

    Sergio Busquets (85 mins)

Great finish, and game well and truly over if it wasn't already.

Ousmane Demeble works hard down the left, toying with the Celta defence before passing to Sergio Busquets on the edge of the area.

Unmarked, the midfielder takes his time before drilling a low shot into the Celta goal.

  8. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

The offside flag spares Gabriel Fernandez there.

The Celta substitute is through one-on-one with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the flag remains down, but Fernandez shoots straight at ter Stegen before placing his hands on his head.

The linesman belatedly raises the flag, but it's still a poor miss either way.

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

A third and final change for Celta Vigo, who send on Gabriel Fernandez for Pape Cheikh.

  10. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

It's certainly a case of damage limitation for Celta Vigo now, and that's more than suiting Barcelona.

Celta troubled the hosts early in this match, but the Lionel Messi show has drained the belief of Oscar Garcia's side.

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Former Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez comes on for Celta Vigo in place of Stanislav Lobotka.

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

And on comes Luis Suarez for the closing stages.

Not a bad substitute to have available. Can he get among the goals before this one comes to an end?

    Antoine Griezmann is off.

  13. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Luis Suarez is warming up for Barcelona...

  14. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Looking ahead, after Barcelona travel to Leganes following the international break, Ernesto Valverde's side have a huge December coming up.

In La Liga they travel to Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad before hosting Real Madrid, while they complete their Champions League group stage campaign with games against Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

    A season-defining month?

  15. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Barca are continuing to dominate the possession while waiting patiently for an opening.

Celta make a change, with Pione Sisto replaced by 22-year-old Brais Mendez.

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Great stop by Ruben Blanco to dent Antoine Griezmann at close range!

Lionel Messi puts Griezmann through, but Blanco rushes out to close the angles and leave the striker visibly frustrated.

  17. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Ousmane Dembele has certainly boosted Barcelona's attack since his half-time introduction.

But the hosts still don't look anywhere near their fluid best, frequently running out of ideas in the final third when met by an organised Celta defence.

Celta are caught in two minds - do they stop this getting any worse, or do they go after Barca?

  18. Post update

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Pione Sisto draws another save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen as Celta Vigo increase the pressure on Barca's goal.

Sisto is forced out wide, but manages to shoot across ter Stegen who pushes the ball out to safety.

    Barcelona 3-1 Celta Vigo

Celta are pressing for a goal to get themselves back into this match - which Lionel Messi aside has been rather even.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is forced into a good save from range, but he would have been rather disappointed to concede from there.
