  1. What next?

Well, it's as you were at the top of the Premiership after fairly routine wins for Celtic and Rangers this afternoon.

Now there's a two week break from league action as Scotland take on Cyprus and Kazakhstan in Euro 2020 qualifying and, shortly, the national side will launch their new kit.

Keep across our website for news of that, and enjoy what remains of your weekend. I'm off to finish the remaining Maoam sweets sitting two desks away. Cheers!

  2. 'Worst performance since I've arrived' - Holt

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Livingston manager Gary Holt wasn't happy with his side today, speaking to BBC Sportsound after the game he stated that: "It’s the worst performance since I've come here. I don’t think we were pro active today, we didn’t get a foothold, we were waiting for someone to do something that’s not like us. We were passive. I can't say no one tired, they all put in a shift, but we were disjointed. We weren't hunting in packs and Rangers were."

"If we kept it at 1-0 we had a chance, but we lose a poor goal. It's happened too easy and it makes it a mountain to climb. We need to get back at it."

  3. 'Gallagher proved he can start for Scotland' - Robinson

    FT: Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

Speaking to BBC Sportsound following his side's 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park, Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson said: "I'm pleased with the performance but not the result. If you come to Celtic Park and lose with two goals like that then you've done something right. There was a lot of positives to take from a young side. I thought Bevis Mugabi was terrific and I thought Barry Maguire did well, but we didn't hurt them enough in attack."

When asked about Declan Gallagher, the Northern Irishman responded: "Declan was superb. He proved on the big stage today that he can start for Scotland."

  4. Gerrard hits back at Holt over physicality comments

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Before today's match in West Lothian, Livi boss Gary Holt wrote a newspaper column defending his side's style of play, after Steven Gerrard had made comments in the aftermath of the sides' last meeting, in which Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo required a number of stitches to a head wound.

This is some of what Holt wrote: "Ahead of our game against Rangers Sunday, he [Gerrard] called for ref Nick Walsh to ensure his players were protected.

"Protected from what? It’s the Tony Macaroni Arena they’re heading to – not Madison Square Garden."

This is what Steven Gerrard has just said to Sky Sports in response: "I don't think any of my players will be aware of the comments. I think Gary needs to check what I said, first and foremost.

"I didn't say it was an elbow, I said it was a forearm, and I also defended [Rickie] Lamie and said he wasn't a dirty player. So he needs to check his facts before he replies, all I said was the last time we had quite a few head injuries and had the physio on a lot and I asked for protection for my players, his players and everyone else in the league for that matter.

"That's all I said, if he's got a problem with that, then that's fine, no problem, but that's all I said."

  5. Gerrard praises 'superb' Morelos

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard speaking to Sky Sports about Alfredo Morelos: "He deserves all the credit he gets, he's a superb centre forward. This season he's come back and really focussed on his football. If we keep providing service for him, he'll keep getting goals and we'll keep talking about him.

"But it's important we keep talking about him for the right reasons. We have been doing so far this season."

On the title race, Gerrard said: "Celtic are in excellent form, they've had a big week themselves and they're scoring goals heavily and don't seem to be dropping any points so it's important we continue to do what we need to do, keep winning and staying in there."

  6. 'Another fantastic performance' - Lennon

    FT: Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

The Celtic manager Neil Lennon is reflecting on another positive result: "We created brilliant opportunities and we had good control," he said on Sportsound. "It's another fantastic performance after Thursday. Since the Livingston defeat we've won all our games in all competitions so the response has been magnificent.

When asked on his standout performers, Lennon responded: "Jonny Hayes has had a great couple of days. We're not surprised either because he's been showing this in training, so we're absolutely delighted with his contribution and I was delighted with Ntcham as well."

  7. How things stand...

    Premiership table
  8. 'Important three points' - Tavernier

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Rangers captain James Tavernier speaking to Sky Sports: "We just concentrate on ourselves and don't worry about what's across the road. It was important to go into the international break with three points."

"Some of the boys are looking forward to a rest, recharging the batteries and go again after the break."

  9. 'Professional' Celtic get the job done

    FT: Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

    Tom English

    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

Quote Message: It was a very professional job from Celtic, it could've been more than two goals. Declan Gallagher and Mark Gillespie did well to keep the score down for Motherwell. Ntcham played well after his midweek heroics, and elsewhere Jullien looks a real signing and Ajer is growing in confidence.
  10. The goals from the Tony Macaroni...

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Joe Aribo slammed home the opener in the first half

  11. Solid Celtic

    FT: Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

Celtic have kept four clean sheets in a row in the league, the first side to do that this season. 367 minutes without conceding in the Premiership.

It's some improvement from the start of the season when new signings looked unsure and they were leaking goals regularly.

  12. 'Tavernier back at it'

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Rangers

    Kenny Miller

    Former Scotland striker

Quote Message: I think James Tavernier has been back at it. He's had a hard time the last couple of months but he's had a really solid game. His defending and deliveries have been great.
  13. FULL-TIME - Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

Celtic stay top of the Premiership pile.

Odsonne Edouard slammed in the opener, while Richard Tait knocked in an own goal in a low key second half.

Jonny Hayes is congratulated after setting up the second goal for Celtic

  14. FULL-TIME- Livingston 0-2 Rangers

It hasn't been Rangers' finest performance, but at no point have they been in trouble.

Joe Aribo opened the scoring before the break, with Alfredo Morelos doubling the lead in the second half. The Ibrox side stay behind Celtic in the Premiership on goal difference.

  15. Post update

    Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Greg Stewart shoots into the side-netting, having just replaced Joe Aribo. It was on his weaker right foot, but you would expect him to hit the target from close range.

  16. 'Not quite sure how it got there'

    Livingston 0-2 Rangers

    Neil McCann

Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: I'm not quite sure how it gets there, it gets through so many bodies. It was some strike from that angle.

    Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Well, that was bizarre! Borna Barisic smashes one towards goal, it hits Livingston goalkeeper Matijas Sarkic and crashes off the far post!

Then, James Tavernier fires one just wide.

  18. Post update

    Livingston 0-2 Rangers

Jermain Defoe almost squeezes one in at the back post having just come on for Alfredo Morelos, but the flag was up for offside in any case.

  19. Double stop from Gillespie

    Celtic 2-0 Motherwell

Odsonne Edouard weaves his way past three our four Motherwell players with ease before rolling in Olivier Ntcham. The angled shot is kept out by the foot of Mark Gillespie and the Motherwell keeper needs to make a near identical stop to deny Jeremie Frimpong moments later.

  20. Praise for Morelos as Defoe replaces striker

    Livingston 0-2 Rangers

    Neil McCann

Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: Morelos is enjoying himself, he's got a bit about him. He's in a really confident mood. He's quelled his fire and he's showing everything good about his game now.
