'We showed character'
FT: Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Portsmouth goalscorer Ronan Curtis tells BT Sport:
"We dug in deep, we knew what they were about, a big, strong, physical side. We showed character in the wind and bad weather to come back.
"We're not used to playing on a 3G pitch as well, so we got the result in the end."
Altrincham await
FT: Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Portsmouth will play National League North side Altrincham at Fratton Park in round two.
FULL-TIME
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Job done for League One Portsmouth.
Harrogate fought bravely and went ahead early through Mark Beck, but two moments of first-half quality from Brandon Haunstrup and Ronan Curtis was enough for Pompey.
Bedtime.

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Just the TWO minutes of added time for Harrogate to find a leveller.
That's a rarity at the end of a game - probably down to the three first-half substitutes.

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Harrogate are giving it everything to find that equaliser.
Jack Muldoon bundles his way into the Portsmouth box but his low cross is well held by Craig MacGillivray.
Post update
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
This game is going to finish at around 22:40 GMT.
Not sure I've ever seen one finish later where there hasn't been extra time or penalties!
Is there a late twist to come?
HITS THE POST
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Almost game over!
Lee Brown fires a low effort from a tight angle and James Belshaw pushes it onto the post. Brilliant save from the Harrogate keeper.

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Harrogate are definitely on the front foot now. They need to be.
Mark Beck wins another header from a corner but it goes over. Beck has been immense in the air.

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Chance for Harrogate!
Mark Beck rises high at a corner and heads towards goal but it's straight at the keeper.
That's the National League side's first effort on target since the goal.
SUBSTITUTION
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Third and final switch for the hosts.
Alex Bradley replaces Brendan Kiernan.
Post update
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
20 minutes plus added time left for Harrogate to find at least another goal.
I'm sure home boss Simon Weaver would take a replay right now.
Post update
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
George Thomson almost makes an instant impact for Harrogate as he smashes a 25-yard effort towards goal which flies just wide.
Probably Harrogate's best chance of this second half.
SUBSTITUTION
Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Harrogate make their second substitution as George Thomson comes on for Jack Diamond.
If you're just joining us and wondering why only an hour is gone in this game - there was a 55-minute delay to kick off because of a power cut.
Fun for all involved!

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
James Belshaw keeps Harrogate in the game.
The ball drops to John Marquis a few yards from goal, the Pompey striker gets a toe on it, but Belshaw makes himself big and blocks.
A better strike from Marquis and Portsmouth would surely be in round two?

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Stats don't always give you the full picture, but Harrogate's only shot on target tonight is the goal by Mark Beck.
They'll need to find another gear from somewhere, but Portsmouth are doing well to nullify any threat.
The game has gone very scrappy.

I appreciate John's passion for his club - but almost an hour of constant bell ringing is a bit much.
Imagine sitting next to him?

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Portsmouth substitute Anton Walkes bends one towards goal from a tight angle and James Belshaw pushes it away.
Walkes then follows it up with a volley out of the ground.

It's getting tasty out there.
Harrogate captain Josh Falkingham claims Gareth Evans planted an elbow on him. Looking at replays I'm not so sure. Just looked like a tussle.

Harrogate 1-2 Portsmouth
Pompey fan John Westwood, officially known as John Anthony Portsmouth Football Club Westwood, is in the away stand ringing his bell.
He's having a great time, despite the prospect of a 260-mile journey home in the witching hour.
