  1. Post update

That's all from me today but read Tom Garry's report here. We'll have reaction from Phil Neville and Rachel Brown-Finnis on the website later.

I'm off to grab a brew and warm my hands up!

  2. 'The players are devastated'

    FT: England 1-2 Germany

England manager Phil Neville speaking to BBC Two: "It a was killer blow later on, I thought we competed well in the game, we conceded late because we did not use our experience in game management. The players are devastated as they wanted to get a good result.

"We spoke at half time about being more courageous. I can’t fault the players’ endeavor but some mistakes are costing us.

"The results are not good enough, there’s no hiding away but there’s a long-term plan that we have. We have to take the criticisms that come our way and stick together.

"I have been in football long enough and I know I need to take responsibilities, I need to make sure I improve as a manager and the players improve too."

"It's a dream come true to play at Wembley for your country and score."

  5. 'More questions than answers'

    FT: England 1-2 Germany

    Emma Hayes

Chelsea Women manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

    England have definitely entertained us.

It has been a valiant effort from the team, but in the end the better team won.

England are left with more questions than answers after this game.

    England's players look gutted.

The German coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is applauding her players and hugging them. Big win for them.

It's Georgia Stanway who takes it but it's punched clear by the keeper.

And that's it. All over. Germany win again.

  9. 'Not out quick enough'

    England 1-2 Germany

    Casey Stoney

Manchester United Women manager on BBC Two

Steph Houghton doesn't get out quick enough. I have to say it's a very clinical finish. I'm not sure Earps in goal can do a lot about it.

  10. 'No more than what Germany deserve'

    England 1-2 Germany

    Emma Hayes

Chelsea Women manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is no more than what Germany deserve, they have been the better team.

That bit of quality from Klara Buhl: one v one against Steph Houghton and anybody who watched this player from a youth level knew that as soon as she picked the ball there was only going to be one outcome,

  11. Post update

    Klara Buhl

Oh no, this is devastating for England.

This time Steph Houghton doesn't get in the way and instead, she's turned inside out in the box before Klara Buhl fires it low, into the far corner.

    It's gone very quiet.

    England 1-1 Germany

    Emma Hayes

Chelsea Women manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

For the first time we are seeing this German side looking nervy.

Their subs are not making the same impact the England ones have.

Can England capitalize? I would like to see Georgia Stanway getting into a shooting position.

  18. Post update

Leah Williamson plays a sloppy pass but Jill Scott bails her out with some smart reactions and a bit of composure.

It's all a bit mad at the moment. Both teams wanting a winner!
