  1. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

Everton are able to make two of their 24 shots count, but it appeared for 25 second-half minutes that they might be made to pay for their profligacy as Danny Ings capitalised on Southampton's bright start to the second half.

Richarlison's late winner ensures the table appears much more comfortable for Marco Silva, but Ralph Hasenhüttl's problems continue to mount.

  4. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

No way through for Southampton as Everton continue to sit back to protect their slender lead.

A foul by Michael Keane on Sofiane Boufal offers the opportunity for James Ward-Prowse to try something from a free-kick...

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

Southampton try to force one last chance but a foul on Tom Davies releases the pressure on Everton.

Michael Obafemi is on for Southampton and there will be four minutes of added time.

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

Richarlison is coming off for Everton, with Michael Keane getting a run out for the final few minutes.

Che Adams is also on for Southampton with Nathan Redmond off.

  7. 'Everton show real character'

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

    Leon Osman

Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

It's just what Everton needed. I spoke earlier in the day about when Everton concede goals, they can be a bit flaky, but to concede that goal, be on the back foot for 10 minutes, and then find a way to get back in front, that's the most pleasing thing. It shows real character and it was a great goal, a perfect ball from Djibril Sidibe.

  8. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

Richarlison is down receiving treatment as time continues to run down for Southampton and Ralph Hasenhüttl.

He looks completely fine and is doing a rather good job of winding up the home support.

  9. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

After Southampton's promising response at the start of the second half, this game is slipping back into the rhythm of the first 45 minutes with Everton doing all the pressing.

Alex Iwobi picks out the run of Dominic Calvert-Lewin but Jannik Vestergaard is alert to block the striker's attempt at goal.

  10. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

The free-kick travels from left to right where Alex Iwobi is waiting. The substitute does really well to cushion the ball back towards goal and, though it looked like it was travelling wide, it actually scuffs the post.

Iwobi is looking lively since his introduction.

  11. Post update

    Southampton 1-2 Everton

Do Southampton still have the fight to level again, or can Everton put this out of reach as they should have done in the first half?

It's the visitors who are pushing for a third at the moment.

Lucas Digne and Gylfi Sigurdsson stand over a free-kick just inside the Southampton half.

  12. GOAL - Southampton 1-2 Everton

Brilliant cross and a really well-taken finish!

Djibril Sidibe delivers an excellent cross from the right which drops perfectly for Richarlison to convert in front of goal.

It's been a long time coming, but Everton finally have a second in this match.

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

    A double change for Everton.

Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin come on as Marco Silva attempts to force a winner.

Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun leave the field.

  14. Post update

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

It's Everton who can't get out at the moment, until Sofiane Boufal gives away a soft free-kick and the Toffees can take a breather.

This is anyone's game as we head into the final 20 minutes.

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

James Ward-Prowse curls the free-kick towards the top corner and Jordan Pickford reacts quickly to push the ball over his crossbar.

Nothing comes from the resulting corner, but Southampton maintain their spell of pressure to force a corner.

  16. Post update

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

    Another penalty appeal for Southampton?

Djibril Sidibe blocks Moussa Djenepo's run into the box but Sidibe's foul occurs outside the penalty area and Southampton have a free-kick in a great position.

  17. Post update

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

Now, that's clumsy from Yerry Mina!

The Everton defender brings down Moussa Djenepo inside the penalty area but referee Paul Tierney isn't interested.

Play goes on and there doesn't appear to be any further advice from VAR.

  18. Post update

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

Lovely from Theo Walcott, who glides through Southampton players in the centre of the pitch before picking out Richarlison on the left of the box.

Richarlison can't sort his feet out, so Gylfi Sigurdsson takes over only to see his shot blocked.

  19. CLOSE!

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

Everton have responded well to Southampton's leveller, but they're still lacking a cutting edge when they get into dangerous positions.

Cenk Tosun is the latest Toffees player to take a shot, but he drags his effort wide of the Southampton goal.

  20. 'Everton should have put the game to bed'

    Southampton 1-1 Everton

    Leon Osman

Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

Southampton were terrible in the first half and that's me being kind. Everton should have put the game to bed. Sofiane Boufal has come on, done Gylfi Sigurdsson one-on-one and suddenly the crowd are up and Southampton are all over Everton.
